New Hakkeien

One of the best hotels I have been in Japan. Great view, big rooms with traditional feel, fantastic hot springs on the roof and located near some of the best spots to visit in the area. The area is in the countryside and generally there are way more local tourists than foreign ones. This is already a plus. Breakfast is perfect and can accommodate even picky foreign eaters. The hotel has its years, but despite that it offers everything you may need and more. Definitively visit the hot springs: a real blessing. Around the area there are a lot of natural spots to visit but it can get tricky to move around without a car.

There is a very steep uphill road to get to the hotel, followed by stairs and not a lot of public transportation that takes you close to the hotel from the station. You will either need a car or a taxi to move around the area a lot. Aside from that, everything is perfect.

上り坂がキツイです

露天風呂の景色が良くて気持ち良かった。朝食が和洋味わえ豪華すぎて食べ終えるのが勿体ないくらいでした。館内も落ち着いた雰囲気。部屋から富士山を眺めることもできてとても良かったです。駐車場も係の方が案内してくださりとても親切に対応していただけました。

朝食はとても良かったです。どれも美味しくて、品数も多くて大変満足です。

お部屋内に設置してあるポストを使おうとしたら前の方が使用したまま、水が残ってまして洗ってないんだと…湯呑みまで気になってしまい、自分で洗いました。 ホテルに到着した時、予約確認なのか？ご年配の方が私の名前を見つけることができなくて少し心配になりました。 室内のトイレに入る際、段差を緩和するために台が設置してありますが、高さがあるので仕方ないのですが…逆に危ない感じがしてしまいました。
