I did not like anything as I didn't have that privilege

I didn't like the fact that I waited for almost 30 minutes at the gate, Somebody ended up opening for me. The same lady who allowed walk ends to utilize my room took my guest and I to that room and when we opened the room we found other guests having sex. Owner came to the place and did not take ownership and was rude telling me that I know everything, told me to rather cancel on the App (Booking.com), I then advised him that on the App it had a none-refundable policy. I tried cancelling on the App but did not allow me as I arrived at the accomodation at 18:00 pm, I requested for my refund inclusive of cost for Uber and the Foreign African brother said "You think you are clever" I will not help you out.

The property was OK. I would give it a 7 1/2 close to an eight maybe but it was OK for the quote for the cost.

I didn’t like about sharing bathrooms, and they don’t offer slippers so you should come prepared.

The location is alright.

Most rooms have shared bathroom. Even worse, the drain in the shower was clogged up, so other people's dirty water kept coming up.

No windows in the room and bathroom . Stained linen . Bathroom floor tiles not finished completely (safety hazard ) Shower still busy with renovation and no shower door handle . No soap and soap dispenser. No towels provided . No fridge , no milk , no coffee , no kettle, no tea /coffee. Too much noise during the day.

Rio Hostel, the place from hell

Nothing. The place is overpriced and in poor condition.. It is advertised under false pretenses. The place is more like a hostel. A hostel prison and it should be advertised as such. Not as a bed and breakfast but a hostel. There is a big difference. They have a supposed kitchen with no tea, coffee, or anything. No bottled drinking water for each of their hostel rooms. They charge $40 USD for the evening. Pathetic service. If I wanted to sleep in a dormitory, I would've booked a bed in a dormitory. I am a researcher, and I travel a lot throughout South Africa, so I know what value for money is. This place is a scam. What they advertise is not what you find as a business traveler. I was out all day, and xxmd to sleep there only. But in saying that, I did not expect such a dump for the price they charge. They must be closed down. Their license to operate under a bed and breakfast must be revoked. They scam people.

Nothing. Nothing. Nothing at all. I had to ask for a kettle and coffee, brought to me the second night. The one set of plugs did not work and another was high up in the sky.. You'd expect there to be shower gel and a shower cap in the room. Nothing. Just a plain old ugly bed for the $40 USD I paid. In other bed and breakfast services at the reception or in your room you are given the wifi password. In this dump, I had to ask for it. I arrived there at 11:00 pm. Went to the work event at Iziko Museum. When I returned, the place was locked. I had to phone to be let in. A dump of note.

Location was perfect

The management attitude. The filthness of the bathroom. The bed is old and uncomfortable. Pillows are from way back. No towels and bathroom essentials. The electricity socket was coming out with my charger.

Not happy about everthing

You have to ask for toilet paper... No windows in the room... No air conditioner... TV are not working. Poor network.. Rooms are too small... They said there is a breakfast for R100... Only to find there was no such... Drainage at bathrooms not working you end up standing in the dam while you taking a shower... They supposed to put mop in Barthroom because guest are sharing...

Stay away and pay more somewhere else.

The staff was great help, very friendly and assisted when we had a drink spill in our room.

There are no positives for staying there and I'd recommend it be removed form booking.com. My beds felt like we were sleeping on the floor and blankest weren't comfy to sleep under. Out side my room was the only window in the whole building and it had no glass. Since room had no aircon or any type of heating system. We were ice cold the whole night. Even though I rented a bed for my daughter in another room, we had her sleep with us by how cold it was. The bathrooms have zero privacy and showers makes u feel like u leaving more dirty than when you got it.

The Front of House staff was very friendly and helpfull. And the place was clean.

The whole booking was a mess and after speaking to 3 different persons we were allocated to Rio Guest House whom is in Sea Point. Not a clue - because the Guest House is in mid-city. The Guest House is not up-to-standard as a Guest House. Twin bedrooms and no bedside lamp or coffee facilities. Had to ask that the single bed mattrasses be replaced very bad condition. Bathroom cant lock and toilet door missing.

I never got to experience my stay as the property completely disregarded my confirmed booking.

Nothing.

Before I confirmed my booking, there was no payment method provided as it stated "Pay at the Property". I then messaged the Property to confirm if I should pay them when I check in and they confirmed it (will attach screenshots if possible). They never sent me my invoice for my stay and they disregarded my confirmed booking with notifying me and gave my room away. Never once has the Property disclose to me that I should pay upfront as they claimed neither provided any bank details to ensure I pay in advance. Their lack of communication was very strong in the exchange that I had with the receptionist. They then referred me to Hippo Pod Hotel claiming they checked for vacant rooms at Hippo Pod, but when I got there, the receptionist never received any communication from Rio Guesthouse. They were truly unprofessional and had no regard for my safety. I will never book a stay by them again.

De quase tudo, fiquei decepcionado, péssima experiência, os quartos, a TV plasma esta por cima do guarda-fato, sem nenhum apoio para torná-lo seguro, o chuveiro, sem janelas para o exterior, enfim, espaços bem claustrofóbicos de estar, precisa-se melhorar bastante, os donos têm de rever os serviços que prestam no Rio Guest House
