About this house rental

A fully equipped, recently built (2003) beach home with two comfy bedrooms with yummy queen beds, a great room, a private deck outside the kitchen, and a cozy, romantic rooftop living room or a back yard jacuzzi with ocean views and starry, starry nights. Our beach house and decks are protected from the strong winds that buffet the bluffside. Take a walk down the nature path or the road past Pomo Lake to the private, gated beach for five miles of sandy coast, dramatic rocks, and lively tidepools to explore. Or just cross the road and enjoy the thick Mendocino forest. Our home is two fully independent duplexes. Sarah and I have the smaller one bedroom south side, but we are rarely in residence. If by chance we are there during your visit, we are especially quiet and considerate.

The trip was a relaxing, quiet getaway. The description and photos in the ad are accurate. The house has lots of windows, great for watching the deer that appeared in the yard each day. There are 2 decks that offer great views. The outside hot tub was a very nice perk, as was access to the private beach. Dogs are allowed off leash. There were a few others there on Sunday but on Monday we had the beach pretty much to ourselves. I chatted with Jess for a few minutes before he headed out. Pleasant to talk to. He has the adjoining house. Written instructions were detailed and clear. The combination of quiet and thin walls/windows means that conversations in the bedrooms could be heard outside the house. Not an issue if the hosts are gone but otherwise need to be cognizant of the noise. Same with taking my dog out at night. Difficult to be quiet going out the front door which is near the front door of the adjoining house. I would have opted to go out the garage instead if the host was staying on site so as to not bother him.

I stayed here with a friend for a long weekend - we enjoyed ourselves immensely! Highlights were listening to the birds, the scent of the sweetgrass, a soak in the hot tub, and using this as a home base to explore the lovely coastal towns nearby. Jess left excellent and helpful instructions. We planned ahead for cooking on the induction burners/air fryer and the kitchen was pretty well appointed. We'd recommend a visit to Point Arena for two excellent bakeries - Franny's and Pelican Bread. Also highly recommend the coastal hike along the Stornetta Public Lands/Point Arena lighthouse. We'd stay here again!

After months of dealing with aging parents and angsty kids, my best friend and I needed a de-stress trip, and this rental was perfect for that. We loved the location, proximity to the beach, and the peace and quiet. The window seats were wonderful with plenty of light for reading and working on projects we brought. We were a little bummed that the fireplace didn't work, since it was quite chilly, but the heaters did a good job of warming us up. The beds were comfortable, the sheets soft, and everything we needed was provided. We stopped at Frannie's Bakery on our way home, and it definitely lived up to the owner's recommendation! Thank you so much.

The property is perfect, everything you need for a quiet getaway! Watch the sunset on a clean, private beach. Short drive to Elk for delicious food. Cook food at home, relax in the hot tub. The house was clean, the neighborhood was quiet. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay here and felt the descriptions were accurate and the local information about activities were so helpful. The kids loved the bakery and the B. Bryan Reserve.
