This property is located in the banana belt of Gualala, Ca. where the weather is almost always warm and sunny even if much of the coast is covered in fog, yet is just minutes from town, the river and beach. As you drive down the private driveway, this large home sits majestically in a serene redwood meadow with a beautiful deck, and garden. The home is spacious and has a large fully equipped kitchen with a commercial grade stove and beautiful granite counter tops. The dining room can accommodate large groups for memorable meals with your family and friends. The living room has vaulted ceilings, plenty of seating and large TV. Stairs lead to a large sleeping loft (considered to be 2 of the 3 bedrooms) The loft is separated by a partial wall and has 2 new Queen beds on each side, with views of the redwoods around you. In addition to the loft, there is a separate master suite with a king bed and private bathroom. Enjoy grilling on the large deck and take in the beautiful meadow and gardens. There is cable TV and wi-fi in the home.

We had a lovely visit here. It was so relaxing and quiet, surrounded by woods without another soul around. We enjoyed ambling in the meadow with our dogs and breathing in the fresh clean air. The cabin is very comfortable and suited our needs very well, with a comfortable living room and a spacious kitchen. Yet in spite of being off the beaten path, it's quite close to the restaurants in Gualala, Cooks Beach (recommended), and walks along the bluff overlooking the ocean. I'd definitely come back!

Beautiful property with nice outdoor spaces for kids to play and explore. Great downstairs space in kitchen, dining room, and living room for family to gather. One bedroom with king bed. The other 4 queen beds are in an open loft, with a 3/4 length wall dividing the open loft in half.

Absolutely beautiful property!! Very private. Well built cabin with wrap around porch. Updated kitchen with new appliances. We reserved this place for a long weekend with family and friends in June. Only source of heat was wood burning stove. Decor is a bit dated especially lighting and no covering in windows which was great during daylight but not so good at night. Needed more towels. Very peaceful serene environment!!

The home was beautiful, the property was beautiful & peaceful. We all loved it & had a memorable time. The owner was excellent on communication.My only complaint is the cleanliness of the inside & out. The outside deck & furniture would have benefited with a leaf blower & wipe down of cushions. The inside had not been vacuumed, dusted, windows inside had cobwebs & dead flies. The kitchen needed a scrub down before we used it. I tried not to look up at the lights over the kitchen island. I don’t think anyone has cleaned them in a long time. There were quite a few things that were broken & needs replaced or fixed. There was a previous guest’s boxers & socks behind the Master bedroom door. Bugs on the sheets in MB also.The whole house smelled musty, we had to air it out. There was portable fans to use but were so dirty we did not use them. The main bathroom shower curtain had soap scum all over.One of the outbuildings had a broken window with glass everywhere.It’s too bad the cleaning company is not doing their job because it is a beautiful peaceful place that we would love to stay in again but only if these things are addressed. The owner probably has no idea that they are paying for a cleaning service & they are doing are not doing their job!My family & I were in Gualala to spread my husband’s ashes & to be together & celebrate his life. We did not let all this ruin our stay but it could have been so much better.Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home

We were able to relax and regenerate at your beautiful house and property! We enjoyed the fireplace, TV and well stocked kitchen! We spent hours exploring the Mendocino coast and hope to visit again soon. Comfy beds

Our group of family and friends have gathered here twice a year for several years. The large living room, kitchen and dining area give plenty of room to relax. The property is very private and quiet.

The house is nice and on a very nice wooded property that is quiet and private and is pretty much as described in the listing. There are a couple of crows that were hanging around and a rabbit also paid a visit. The beach and river is only a short drive away. We stayed in the area last year in Anchor Bay and really enjoy the area. You will need to make sure to bring toiletries and some kitchen items like sauces and ketchup and some seasonings. Bring mosquito repellent, it may have been that the weather was even warmer than normal out this way, but there were a lot of mosquitoes in the evenings aside from the last night we were there as it was much cooler. There are some windows missing screens as is one of the sliders, we found a small fan that helped pull in cool air at night and there are ceiling fans, if it is going to be especially warm I recommend bringing a couple of extra fans. I'm sure normally it isn't as warm as it was while we were there so this may not be as much of a thought normally, the beach didn't even have any fog until the last day we were there. The price is reasonable and is on our list as a place to possibly visit again. Thanks again!

We truly enjoyed our time in Gualala! The cabin was clean, and big enough to fit our family. It definitely was fun exploring the surroundings. The kitchen was fantastic for having family meals. It was super functional, and had a feel of old rustic farmhouse. Everything we needed for cooking was available. We were all able to be in the kitchen to help prep for breakfast and dinners. The kids had a blast up on the loft upstairs. The beds were quite comfortable. The big screen TV was awesome! The cell service was better at the house than in town. Thank you for letting us rent your place for our weekend adventure. It was incredible and we all decided to make it an annual summer tradition to come back. Next time, it’ll be longer than just 3 nights!

My family (10 of us): including my older parents that stayed in the master suite, which was great and easy for them. I did read that there was not much privacy in the loft area, which is really not that big of a deal. There are 4 beds upstairs with 2 semi-private bedrooms, which was fine for us. We had a wide array of ages for children from 9 down to 18 months with us and it was perfect for our kids. The pictures on the site do not do the beauty of this place any justice. Absolutely beautiful property. We went in July and it was shorts and short sleeve weather at the property. A little colder as we got closer to the coast. Perfect distance to beach/water/ocean access. We were familiar with the area already and this location is just perfect. We brought a lot of our own toiletries and other stuff, but the place was fully stocked with everything. And there IS Wi-Fi in the house which is great for the kids. There is also satellite TV. Fully stocked kitchen. Seriously, no complaints here. I would do this again without question. Thank you so much Karen. You were great with communication. I have an ill mother and young baby and asked for an early check in for them, which was accommodated. Perfect EVERYTHING! Don’t think about it…just get it. The price is right!

Very private and quite location. It is near enough to the road that you do hear a passing car here or there but not a busy road and the sound is serene, with a sound of wind pushing through the treed canyon confuses you that you are closer to the ocean than you are. Inside very open floor plan with the onlybprivacy the master bed and bath. Fire place for the heat and a couple portable heaters for extra as needed. Fire kept house very warm. Nice kitchen, updated appliances. Beds were comfortable. Dryer was broke at the time of our stay but owner was made aware. There are no curtains anywhere in the house accept for the master bedroom, which lends to nice view of the setting every where in the house. Its a great place for a family with kids. The kids have a great area to explore and play out side. Would choose an ocen view location as well, however, the privacy of this home is definately unique and close enough to the twom and a few beachs. Would definately go back again.

This place is well preserved and shows a lot of love put into the grounds. We did notice that the dryer was not hooked up to the gas line and the exhaust was not working as well. Kind of a big deal if you have a family Maybe that can be repaire easily as we want to bring our Family up next time. Beauty out every window, peace and quiet and plenty of room to roam.. Property is beautiful and secluded, house was fine. All who slept on loft beds said they were very comfortable. The main bedroom mattress was a little hard, but not bad. Did not give five stars because there are no curtains in the house other than some very thin ones in main bedroom, including the very visible bathroom window. Also lacked any toiletries that all of my other VRBO homes have had (shampoo and soap). I would stay here again and do recommend it, but would just bring an eye mask and plenty of toiletries next time.

This house is in a redwood glade. The wood stove does a nice job of keeping the house warm. You need skills to build a fire. There is no kindling, so you collect twigs from the property. There is a full kitchen. Tv screen is huge. It has a lovely vista of the redwoods. It is a short drive to ocean and hiking at Sea Ranch. The ocean is beautiful.. Mendocino is more of a drive, but it is doable. We enjoyed our stay.

This is an amazing and rustic gem in the redwoods above Gualala. The cabin is well furnished with a spacious layout. It easily accommodated our group of 6 adults although there is only one totally private bedroom. There are 3 other queen beds in an upstairs loft open to the living room. This is not a polished modern house like you might fund in SeaRanch but was perfect for our gathering.

Had a wonderful stay at the McNichol residence. It was close enough, but not too close, to the coast and Gualala business establishments. The house was very nice. The garden and meadow were fabulous for waffle ball by day and star gazing by night.

Excellent my family and I played The game was soft all in the meadow that they have there and it was fun to see kids as young as five and adults as old as 70 playing baseball it was very entertaining I got to be the cheerleader at 61 years old lol bad backing out that’s my story and I’m sticking to it thank you so much for allowing us to stay on this beautiful property and hopefully we can get there soon again sincerely thank you

The property is on the ridge above Gualala. Located down a long flat gravel drive well off the road in the woods. Lovely large two story home converted from a barn long ago. On a meadow with couple of walking trails leading into the wooded property. Modern kitchen with lots of cookware and dishes with a comfortable dining area that could seat 10. Large living room with big sectional sofa, reclining chairs and large screen TV (We didn't use it because we were too busy hiking, eating, playing games and talking!) The beds were comfortable. Plenty of hot water. As advertised the only heat was the wood burning stove which once going good could put out a lot of heat. We have been coming to area for many years and would rent this property again.

I walked up the front steps and it smelled like my grandma's house. Such a warm, welcoming feeling full of happy memories. Romantic-Rustic is a good description of this home with the custom wood trim touches throughout the residence. This was a good fit for us because we love space, redwood trees, quite and a wood burning stove with LOTS of wood. The fenced in back area was so perfect for our lil dogs and a big plus! Note: if you are not familiar with using a wood burning stove/fireplace as your main source heat- here are a couple of tips. #1 Start out big (kindle gets going then add up to 4 logs)#2 Keep going with about 3 logs burning at one time for good heat #3 Keep burning throughout the night (get up to pee- toss a log on- only one...because your fire is cooler and if you add more, you'll put it out.) Good luck!
