Flutterby House Hostel

Great breakfast and food, great location, so close to Playa Chaman, perfect for focusing on surfing, you can also rent boards there and book lessons. Flutterby is a local institution I would say. They have weekly DJ nights, locals also go there for a beer (the bar restaurant is open to the public), people know each other, family vibes. I extended and was there about 8 nights in total. you get into a vibe, it starts feeling like family, people know you.I really like that. I was always in a private room so I cannot say anything about the dorms, it was almost always sold out which I take as a good sign:-)

The Hostel has been there for a while and some of the infrastructure shows that. For me it was a mix between charme and raising an eyebrow as soon as it came to functionality. Some things could use a rennovation, because it would make the place so much greater even. Specifically the bathroom facilities should be redone (I want to emphasize that it was always clean everywhere!), there is like two good showers with proper heads and pressure, the rest are in rather bad shape. Some new burners in the kitchen would also be good. That being said there was always a way and if one thing didn't work the other one would(as in there's like 6 showers, and 6 burners, so you have alternatives).

Our room was near the main area and the music was pretty loud until 9 pm. The smell of the place was over all terrible.
