My stay has been everything I hoped and more

The accommodation is so welcoming and warm. I feel every time I visit Barclays but n Ben I am so relaxed and recharged.

There is honestly nothing I can comment I don’t like about the property.

Another great stay here

We have been here 3 times we enjoy the peaceful countryside the house has everything you need and dog friendly Arlene and family are very nice and helpful Also added bonus of a hot tub and big garden

Very welcoming but some small issues

Family were very welcoming, property was very well equipped. Beautifully situated. Well laid out. Lovely enclosed gardens for dogs. Toys games books dvds etc available. On the surface very clean and tidy

There was a fair amount of mess found underneath bed when we pushed beds together as baby wouldnt sleep in cot provided. I tried to send fotos by text to owners but discovered it hadn't sent. Biggest issue was a bottle of restricted medication under the bed in the family room. I'd also comment on the amount of dog hair on couches, and bed linen, even the curtains in living room. Very disappointed about this given the additional charge asked for 2 dogs of £60 for a 3 night break. Our dogs slept in the kitchen. We had an issue with excessive bubbling in the hot tub which also meant we didn't enjoy the full effects of it, as we had to keep jets and jacuzzi off or bubbles overflowed the tub. I doubt even excessive residual detergant on swimwear would cause this to happen as owner suggested. I have never been in a tub that bubbles like that! Tub was still an amazing addition.

Excellent accommodation. The owners couldn’t do anymore for us. So helpful and welcoming. Fresh eggs and cakes when we arrived! Everything you need at the But n Ben and great location for exploring.

Xmas at But n Ben

What can I say but wow. We arrived on Xmas eve and left the day after boxing day. The location is stunning. We met the hosts who were really nice and helpful. They showed us around the cottage itself which is lovely. We had everything we could possibly need in the cottage. There was 6 of us in total and all had our own towels, and there was toiletries in the bathroom along with a hairdryer etc.The hot tub was amazing the ladies spent most of our time in there. Every morning the hosts would make sure it was ready for us. The animals on the farm were the cutest. From chickens 🐔 to pygmy goats 🐐. We had our dog with us and he was in his element. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook a christmas dinner and the table to sit and eat was huge and lovely. The hosts Had a lovely Xmas tree up for us arriving which made it feel so homely. The personalised touches that they added were just amazing. We had eggs from their chickens, lovely mince meat pies and a bottle of prosecco to welcome us, a welcome board with all our names on was also on the wall.It was honestly just amazing from start to finish and I will definitely be going back here at some point again.

Lovely Stay

From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. Fresh eggs and baked pastries were an added bonus. Local shops a short drive away and the kitchen had everything we could have needed for home cooked meals. We were so lucky with the weather, sunny (but cold and frosty) days followed by nights of clear skies. Nothing better than sitting in the hot tub under the moon and stars! Garden was great too, perfect for our dogs as completely secure and could take them all the way from the front door to the garden in a secure fenced area. Thank you to Arlene for the walking recommendations, I didn't take any pictures of the accommodation, but the views from the walk were beautiful so have attached these instead. Will hopefully be back for another stay in the future, thank you again!

Perfect !!! Clean very friendly down to earth couple who make sure your happy ! Short notice & they pulled out all the stops Really can't thank them enough or say how how happy I was at my stay It's is very quiet which I love & the views out of this world This will now be my go to place in Aberdeen anytime am back working in the area

Quiet, clean and peaceful.

Nice quiet location, met on arrival and shown around. Good facilities and was asked if required anything else, given tips on areas to visit ect too. Chicken, Ducks, Goats and cats close by and were friendly and didn't make much noise at all. Hot tub was very good and well looked after.

Lovely house with hot tub 😍 We visited for 3 nights with two dogs garden secure for them beds comfy immaculate every where Host was very helpful and friendly 🙂 The area was so peaceful loved it

What a gem!

The location was fab my friend only loves 20 mins away tops which was the main reason I booked it but turns out I found a gem. Lovely scenery and the hosts were super friendly. I brought my dog it was his first holiday, who also absolutely loved it, especially the garden, where me and my friend got to enjoy the hot tub. All the beds were comfortable, it was all clean, lots of kitchen crockery which made it easy to cook for ourselves. The couch was amazing! Would definitely recommend it to others and would definitely look at booking again.

Heerlijk rustige locatie,

De communicatie met host Arlene was heel adequaat. We kregen een goede rondleiding door en instructies over het huis. We kregen verse eieren van de eigen kippen en Arlene had koekjes voor ons gebakken. Het was een mooie luxe uitvalsbasis voor fietstochten en kasteelbezoeken.

Er was geen afwasmachine, maar dat hadden we ook wel kunnen weten. Afwassen is ook niet zo erg af en toe.
