Beautiful villa. Difficult to get up and down the hill to town without motorbike or taxi. Walking is really not an option due to incline. The staff was exceptional. Always there when we needed him. Helped with anything we asked. Would recommend staying here for anyone wanting to be close to Lamai beach

Vue, emplacement, personel

First, I will start with the positives, because there are several, and I don’t want to sound like I’m trying to be mean. The Thai “butler” that is always there, cooks your breakfast, cleans and greets you - he is just the loveliest man. Smiling, accommodating. Simply a job. Second thing that is just phenomenal is the infinity pool - super clean, water doesn’t smell of chlorine or anything else, and it was just fantastic all around to have it all day round to freshen up in after coming back from a hot and humid day. The view is also quite beautiful, although there are a few spots around that are eyesores that are under construction.

Now to the problems: All comes down to fine attention to details. When you follow the link supplied when you book the place, it doesn't lead you up into the hills to the right address. No one did copy-paste in google maps and cared to check. Our taxi dropped us off angrily at the bottom of the hill with our suitcases, and getting up there was a nightmare. The place is really high up the mountain, and you can't really get there easiely by foot. You need a car or scooter. All over the islands of Thailand there is a water and sewage problem. That’s nothing new. But we were really disappointed to learn that our bedroom simply reeked of a foul smell non-stop. I can’t tell you 100% what the smell came from but I can only imagine it was water pipes. Photos of the place that are taken from a distance look stunning, but once you are there and take a close look at the details...it isn't so rosy. Check out my pics below. Again, unless you are in a major hotel chain or resort that has western building standards the construction and fine attention to details is just not there, but this was just disappointing because it wouldn’t take much to get it to be amazing, when so much work has already been put there to build these towering villas - the kitchen utensils are plastic and all scorched and melted, but gas range is low grade, the vent hood above is all out of whack, screws are all rusty (you can’t use metal in this way in such a humid climate, on the seaside, without everything rusting. And the use metal edging (which is also dangerously sharp in places) in the bathrooms to separate sections of tile. It’s all rusted. Paint work and caulking or really sloppy and overpainted on glass panels and wood. The sofa fabric is kind of dirty and the sofa itself is pretty broken. I can only imagine someone had night parties or kids that jumped on that sofa. The pillows were dreadful.
