Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Town: The elevated, dispersed settlement of Watermillock, which is primarily a farming community, is located alongside Ullswater Lake and runs parallel to the main road. Pooley Bridge, which is located in the Lake District National Park on the northern coast of the lake and has a variety of services, is only 2.5 miles away. The formation of a sizable pool created by the swiftly flowing River Eamont is where the name Pooley first appeared. Pooley Bridge is home to a variety of quaint inns and alluring tea houses. Moreover, the Ullswater Steamers sail from here, from where you may take a relaxing voyage to the settlements of Glenridding and Howtown. Glenridding, which translates to "glen overrun with bracken," is a small tourist community with a variety of independent stores, cafes, and eateries. The cities of Penrith and Keswick are accessible by car, and the area is home to several walks with beautiful vistas. A short stroll up Dunmallard Hill also shows remarkable Iron-Age ruins. An excellent starting point for a cottage trip in the breathtaking Lake District is Watermillock.
