Hotel Montegrino Lakeview

The villa is located up in the forest hills overlooking Luino (a 10 minute downhill drive gets you to the town's centre). We booked a room with the lakeview, so it was very nice to chill on the balcony in the morning or evening. The temperatures at night are surprisingly cool in the villa's area, even at the peak of summer. We were pleasantly surprised by the quiet nights filled mostly with the sounds of crickets and nothing else. The hosts are very warm and welcoming, always ready to give suggestions and hints about what to do and see in Lombardy + if you can't find any souvenirs while exploring, you can simply buy them at the villa.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable, but not so much that you couldn't get a good night's rest.

Posizione vista lago e parco, tranquillissima, immersa nel verde, isolata ma anche comodamente sita a 500 metri dal borgo sottostante. Camera ampissima con balcone vivibile, munito di tavolo e sedie, materasso ottimo, letto grande e molto curato, arredo ben fornito, bagno molto grande, finestrato e anche con vasca.

con piccoli accorgimenti di cura del verde esterno, proprio in prossimità della struttura, la stessa ne guadagnerebbe moltissimo.

Disappointed about breakfast. Not asked what we would have liked. Food waiting on our table for who knows how long, until we came. Egg was hardboiled and cold. Had to ask for coffee, for every cup. By the time the requested milk arrived Coffee was cold.
