A Royal Retreat Within Lucca's Walls – Highly Recommended!

Our stay in Lucca was absolutely magical, thanks entirely to this incredible apartment. Tucked right within the historic city walls, it offers a truly unique experience. The apartment is a masterpiece of design, decorated to feel like medieval royal chambers. The rooms are spacious and grand, filled with wonderful antiques, decorative objects, and lavish embellishments. This rich, historical atmosphere is perfectly balanced with state-of-the-art modern amenities. Every detail has been thought of: * Comfort and Climate: Each room features its own separate air conditioning unit for customized cooling or heating. * Kitchen & Laundry: The kitchen is fully and impeccably equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a microwave, oven, refrigerator, coffee machine, and more. A washer and dryer were a huge bonus. * Tech-Ready: There are plenty of power outlets for charging all your devices, and modern smart TVs for easy connectivity. Beyond the luxurious setting and technical perfection, it was the small, thoughtful touches that truly set this place apart. We were greeted with local wine and cookies, along with helpful brochures detailing things to do in Lucca. Finally, a massive thank you to Davide, who welcomed us with a warm, attentive, and accommodating demeanor. His hospitality made us feel instantly at home. We wholeheartedly and highly recommend this apartment! It is the perfect blend of historical charm, modern luxury, and exceptional service.

Fabulous period property. Would definitely stay there again.

Truly beautiful period rooms and lots of space

All small things - espresso coffee machine not working, rainshower not working. No hanging space in music Room bedroom. Be prepared to be a long way from the shared bathroom. (Please put the pier table and mirror back between the windows in the music room, which is where it should be!)

Very helpful person met us at the door and gave us a tour of the apartment. They had left wine and biscotti for us which was hugely welcome after our travels!

Like stepping back in history in Lucca

It was central but on a quiet street. Bright and spacious with antique furniture. A beautiful stay with a feeling of history. David the host is incredibly helpful.

We were aware and didn’t mind but you do need to know there are 4 flights of stairs so 40 steps to get to the apartment

Perfect locations and apartment

David was an excellent host, he met us at the property, arranged for early check in, and booked us a taxi for our return journey. The apartment is beautiful and a great experience, plenty of space for 2x couples and a young child. The location is perfect, the apartment is walking distance to bars, shops, and restaurants. We will be back to stay again!

What a find! Great location and atmospheric property.

The location was 11/10. Close to everything. The host helped carry luggage as there is no lift and property is on 2nd floor. Host arranged transport which was great and everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Property is exceptionally clean, free toiletries if you are trying to travel light, well appointed kitchen and washing facilities (again if you need to travel light). Lots of space

Room with piano used as a bedroom is not as well appointed as the other purpose built rooms. Has no socket near the bed for a light or phone and having to get out of bed to switch off nearest light and navigate way back to bed in the dark is a challenge. Nowhere to hang/store clothes. Some boxed games/playing cards would be nice for evenings as TV only has Italian channels. Observation not complaint - Room with ensuite is on a busy thoroughfare and early morning noise (delivery vans, people going to work) can disturb as not double glazed

A holiday to remember in a classic Italian apartment in beautiful Lucca

We loved our stay in Lucca in this grand, spacious apartment that has beautiful art work and luxe features at every turn (yes, that's a grand piano in the main bedroom). Dimora Leone is a very special place and had everything we needed. Great location, was lovely and quiet but in walking distance to all the action. We felt like locals for the week! David, our host, was wonderful - he greeted us and was on hand for anything and everything we needed. He also had some fabulous recommendations that really upped our stay. Highly recommended!

By far the best apartment we've ever rented. Immaculate. Close to restaurants, cafes, shops, and yet quiet and tranquil. David is a superstar. He literally went out of his way to help us get the best from a short break. We thoroughly recommend it. It is not to be missed!

Dimora Leone, a little slice of heaven

this was a little palace. I can't express how much we enjoyed our stay. everything was wonderful and I wish we could have stayed longer. David was the best host ever and took care of everything. the only negative to the entire stay is that now my wife wants floors like this in our house lol. perfect place to relax.

What a wonderful find. An elegant and spacious apartment just a few minutes walk from the main Piazza. Beautifully furnished with antiques and original decor giving a true sense of palazzo living - waking up every morning to gaze at the frescoed ceiling was a treat. Good wi-fi, efficient heating plus a well-equipped kitchen and large dining room should anyone be able to avoid the temptations of the many excellent nearby restaurants and cafes. David is an excellent and informative host even going so far as to give us a recommended itinerary to our next destination.

There is only one point to note: the apartment is on the second floor and there is understandably no lift, so this would not suit anyone who finds it difficult to climb stairs.

The apartment is amazing, you feel like you're in an 18th century museum but you can use the furniture.

The listing should be clear in the description that you cannot drive to the apartment and there is no parking. We had trouble getting our luggage back to the parking lot.

Exceptional

If you are staying in Lucca, you must stay at Dimora Leone. The property is spacious and absolutely beautiful. The beds are comfortable and it was nice, being July, to have air conditioning and a washer and a dryer. Dimora Leone is in a quiet area, but very close to restaurants and shopping. Our host, David, was extremely helpful and always easy to contact. He met us at the door, carried in our luggage, and walked us through the apartment. I accidentally left my cell phone in the apartment and he shipped it to our next location.

Fantastisch en één aanrader als je met je gezin een leuke paar dagen wil zijn in Lucca.

Het huis is een sprookje. Het maakte ons weekend met de familie compleet. David is een hele goede gastheer.

Appartamento grandissimo e ricco di fascino grazie al mobilio molto antico. David, il padrone di casa, la ha anche attrezzata con tutto quello che serve per cucinare e lavare i propri vestiti. Zona centralissima e molto tranquilla, dentro le mura di Lucca. Host molto disponibile.

Data la zona e l'antichità della casa non si può contare su ascensore e/o parcheggio, quindi i bagagli vanno portati a mano o in taxi, ma questo secondo me ne aumenta il fascino. Il parcheggio Palatucci, appena fuori dalle mura, resta comunque vicino.
