Section L Hamamatsucho

The location and transport links are honestly unbeatable. Ginza is only two subway stops away, and Haneda Airport can be reached in around 18 minutes — it really couldn’t be more convenient. The room itself was also extremely well equipped, with a fridge and, best of all, a washer-dryer. This was an absolute lifesaver, especially when visiting Tokyo in the summer! Every member of staff we met was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. I really can’t fault this hotel. Fantastic location, great facilities and lovely staff. I will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Tokyo!

This was our second stay at Section L in Hamamatsuchō, three years after the first, and it lived up to the memory. The rooms are compact but very well organised and fully equipped — everything you need is there. The location is perfect: quiet, yet right next to the metro, which made getting around Tokyo effortless. The staff are lovely and very responsive. We booked three rooms and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommended, and we'll happily return.

I've lived in Tokyo before, and looked at hotels around Hamamatsucho for their location and lower price compared to more popular tourist areas. Hamamatsucho has excellent access to Metro lines, the Tokyo Monorail that runs direct to Haneda Airport, and the JR Yamanote Line. You can get nearly anywhere in Tokyo in 30 minutes. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They walked my sister through the takkyubin process to get her luggage delivered to her next stop. The in-unit laundry was incredibly convenient. It was extremely hot and humid for the duration of my stay so I appreciated being able to was clothes often without having to wait on a communal washing machine.

There's not a good place to put multiple suitcases - we stayed with two people, each with two suitcases. It would be nice to have a luggage rack or shelves (maybe in the closet?). Also, the bed frame choice was not good. The headboard was very deep, so that there was only about 6" to get past the bed to the small table and chairs. It would be better to have no headboard and more room to walk from the kitchen to the table and chairs. To be clear, these are minor points, and I would not hesitate to stay at Section L Hamamatsucho again.

location of the property is good. the shopping area is a medium-short walk away. the room and bathroom were clean.

the exterior of this property was a big letdown. it looked like the back of a utility building. coupled with the fact that the street in which this is located is like a back street, we didnt look forward to coming back in the evenings. the balcony looked out over a similar depressing building, so we didnt want to draw the curtains apart either. the rooms were small -- there was barely any space between the end of the bed and the wall -- maybe 12inches? the paint of the door handle had come off, the wall just outside the unit was dirty. i had booked this looking forward to using the washing machine, but there were no instructions in english. there was a qr code which gave us instructions for all appliances in the room -- have you ever tried to run a washing machine cycle looking at the instructions on your phone? not easy :) so i didnt run the machine either. we had booked this for 3 nights, but after spending one night here, we booked another hotel for the next night, this time in ginza. Probably this is best for couples looking for a long stay in tokyo. we are a family with 2 teenage children. this wasnt for us, unfortunately.
