Villa Sofia Cascais

The property was in a perfect location, 5 minutes from the station, 5 minutes from the sea and 5 minutes from the restaurants and 10 mins from a great supermarket. The single bedroomed apartment was quite large, modern and very clean.

There was minimum outside space and it did not have any views. These issues were however minor set against all the positive aspects.

The location of this property was excellent. It was so close to everything but yet it was quiet. The apartment was big and welcoming with everything you needed. The staff were excellent in responding to questions and when we had an issue getting into the gate, they were responsive and helpful

We arrived at 3 to check in but the apartment was still being cleaned. Some of the cupboards in the kitchen were quite grubby but overall the apartment was clean.

The apartment 2 bed room top floor was a great size. Good location with a short walk to the bus and train station. Lots of places to eat out and a great market close by for fresh food with a few corner shops around. Few minutes walk to the beaches and port. The apartment was comfortable with ample space in the bedrooms and a big open plan lounge, kitchen, and dinner. The beds are comfy. The balcony gets the sun most of the day. Cascias is lovely and a great place to visit. Would definitely visit again but maybe not stay here.

We had a few issues which to be fair were all fixed. The washing machine flooded the kitchen, air conditioning didn't work in the May heatwave -it took 2 days to fix as we arrived Saturday and they came Monday. One of the showers was stuck on boiling hot. If you have young children I would think twice about this place as the main door to the apartment can't be locked or latched from the inside and our 2 year old constantly just walked out the door to a flight of steps. We had to put the sofa across the door. The balcony has 3 different doors leading out which can be locked but are easily unlocked by little fingers and the keys couldn't be removed from 2 of the doors so we were on constant watch. No clothes airer to dry clothes outside and the patio furniture is rusty causing some of our clothes to be stained. Saturday nights are noisy especially when the football is on! Lots of barking dogs and daily life.
