Seaside Modern Flat I @ Historical Cascais

Amazing location, less than a 2 minute walk from the flat floor to the beach.

Uber clean. Located right in town so ideal for accessing everything. Some reviews said street noise a problem but we didn’t find that at all. All beds really comfy. Both bedrooms spacious. I would return!

On first 3 days building works made a lot of noise and created so much dust couldn’t sit on balcony without cleaning it- this obviously not fault of property owners though. Once these building works complete, I would say balcony needs to be tarted up a bit as wasn’t as quality as inside of apartment. Bit odd that only 4 seats round table and balcony but imagine this was due to lack of space. Lounge tiny so all 5 of us wouldn’t have fitted in there on the 1 sofa (this was large and very comfy) but not a problem for us as out most of time.

The location of the flat is excellent - minutes from the beach, restaurants, shops, and train / bus station. The decor is pleasant and clean. The air con was very effective which is good because you can’t open the windows without getting a lot of noise from outdoors (the busy pedestrian street below or the building site behind). The staff were very helpful when we had issues with the locks.

The outdoor space is unusable - it was filthy upon arrival but even after I cleaned it, it is tiny, and overlooks an active building site. We used it only for drying towels. It is not somewhere you can sit to eat or enjoy the evening. Also the dining area and living area are very small, so we did not eat in the flat due to lack of social space. There was also no cleaning supplies (mop etc) so the apartment got dirty quite quickly and there were a few maintenance issues which should be quickly fixed - I have reported this to the agent. It was very expensive, and I think you’re paying mainly for the location - which I admit is ideal for exploring the area - but I would prefer a bigger outdoor space where my family and I could dine or just enjoy the area. This doesn’t have that facility.
