EcoLodge Bungalow ...

We spent ten days in Portugal and were blown away by the landscapes, people, culture and food. We traveled around several areas south of Lisbon but this Eco Lodge was the most wonderful experience of all -- we stayed in both the Tree House and the Bungalow. Manuel & Hélène the owners were so lovely, warm and gracious -- helpful in guiding us to one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen and other sites in the area. The bungalow and treehouse were incredibly charming, clean comfortable and beautiful. The shower was better than most hotels I've stayed in and the pool was lovely and warm. The most special part of the stay were the communal meals -- all sourced from local sources and farms and prepared by Manuel & Helene (we ate EVERYTHING but they have so much variety in their meals they can cater to special diets) they prepared a spectacular pre dinner cocktail and poured amazing wines throughout the meal, played great music, had a projector and screen for videos and movies and we met some really special friends over lively dinner conversation. We didn't want to leave. It is in the beautiful middle of nowhere so if you want to really get away from it all, this is the place. We wish we'd planned to stay longer and can't wait for our next visit.
