About this cottage rental
The holiday home is located at the end of a dirt road surrounded by hills and nature where you can be spoiled for tranquility and calm.
You can go hiking in the untouched landscapes and enjoy the enchanting views letting your mind wander.
On two floors you will find ...
in the entrance area, a comfortable living room (with satellite TV) and
the fully equipped kitchen (3 ring gas hob with oven, fridge, cookware, plates and cutlery).
The bright and spacious bathroom with shower / bath, washbasin and toilet offers plenty of space to feel comfortable.
On the upper floor
It is the bedroom, with a large double bed (2x2m) and a spacious wardrobe.
room to put another bed (90x180) to set up a child or a baby bed.

A glazed wooden door
leads to a terrace.
where guests can enjoy a typical Alentejo panorama of cork oaks, barns, eucalyptus, olive trees, among others.
In front of the house entrance has another small terrace.
The power supply of both houses and exclusively by solar panels (3.5 kW), this system is reliable, and provides us well considering the prudent use of energy. Household appliances (such as hair dryers), which are energy thieves, so should stay at home).
The next locations are
Cercal do Alentejo (5 km) and São Luís (7 km). Both are easily accessible and part of the route is a dirt road (approximately 3 km).
They offer everything for your daily needs (butcher, bakery, supermarkets and public markets), various cafes and restaurants.
Vila Nova de Milfontes is the closest city to the sea
(19 km - about 15 minutes by car).
Located in Alentejo
The Alentejo is a region with undeveloped tourism with undulating landscapes and interspersed with mountains and palms.
The incomparable coastline is part of the 'Sudoeste e Costa Vicentina' Natural Park and provides an ideal habitat for a diverse fauna and flora.
Here you have opportunities to make wonderful walks on several marked trails.
The coast is full of fascinating beaches and bays such as Malhão Beach, Furnas Beach and Franquia Beach in Vila Nova de Milfontes, where the Mira River flows into the sea. Especially suitable for families with young children we have the beaches of Almograve, Zambujeira do Mar and Carvalhal.

If you are looking for a nice place to relax, we can highly recommend this holiday home. The house is beautifully situated in a hilly landscape. Furthermore, it is attractively decorated. We could enjoy the sun on the balcony and in front of the house. The owner of the holiday home, Evelyn, received us very warmly and was also very helpful. We really enjoyed this holiday accommodation and would like to come back to this place again.

We had a beautiful and quiet stay at Evelyn's place. The house is located in a bucolic area where you can find peace and nature at its best. However, it's also well located in relation to the main spots in Alentejo cost: beaches and towns. The house is exactly as in the pictures and Evelyn is a great host, she helps you in anything you need, and the house is fully equipped with all the basics for a nice stay. We definetely recommend it and we would love to repeat it!

Very quiet and surrounded by nature. A cosy and "warm" house where we felt welcome and which is conform to the description. Warm only figuratively, because it remained surprisingly cool during the hottest days!
It is close to the sea (about 20-25 minutes by car). Our and the kids preferred beach was "Praia da llha do Pessegueiro".
The house is well placed to be used as base for day-trips to Lisbon and to Algarve. We visited Lagos and Portimao in one day trip and have done an apart trip Lisbon, but I would recommend 2 days if you see for the first time the capital city.
We also enjoyed a lot the circular hiking routes in the nature in Santa Clara, S. Luis Gardens & Dunes of Almograve, (see circular routes info which can be found on: RotaVicentina.com) Make sure you carry enough water with you in the warm season!
In a nutshell, if you want to avoid the touristic Algarve and enjoy nature and be able to find beaches which are not overcrowded, then Evelyn’s house is a destination I can perfectly recommend!
And Evelyn is a friendly person, combining well discretion with being there to answer our questions and proactively offering support.
