Good location and most areas were clean.
When we arrived a lot of the crockery was dirty, with a dirty load of dishes still in the dishwasher which had possibly been there for some time due to the smell. There was also no washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets to rectify this so had to purchase these late in the evening. The hot water was also switched off which took a couple of hours to take effect so was without the hot water for the first night.

Firstly, the location of this apartment was excellent for accessing both the city centre (it is literally a 2 minute walk) and has good transport links if you have a car and wish to explore south Wales. It comes with the added bonus of a car parking space which is worth the price of the apartment in itself. The car park and building, both felt safe and secure and has a 24 hour concierge. It has a good mix of permanent residents and some mature students. It is clean and well-lit. The apartment itself, is near the top of the building and has great views looking out over the city and Cardiff Bay in the distance. It overlooks the railway which is quite cool. Once inside, it is relatively quiet with little disturbance from other residents, The apartment is an excellent size and is perfect for a couple. It is well equipped with most things you need, The bedroom has an excellent walk-in wardrobe for storage and we found the bed really comfortable. There is a nice space-saving dining table in the kitchen/living room which was nice to use and the kitchen has a washing machine, which we found really useful.
The directions given to pick up the key from the safe lock, were not very well explained. If you are coming from the M4, be aware that you will not see the Tesco that is mentioned to pick up the keys on a bicycle lock. We were lucky we arrived after dark on a Sunday and we were able to pull up somewhere nearby and walk. You will need to walk around the back of the John Lewis, but this was not made very clear. Also, be aware that there is a Tesco Metro about a mile on approach. Do not stop here as we did! Once we had located the key, it was easy to get into the carpark and into our apartment. I think we were most disappointed with the bathroom. The shower leaks permanently and was leaking on our arrival. Do not turn it on at full blast, as it will flood the floor (we found that out!) The lighting in there is quite dim and if you wear glasses, forget about seeing yourself clearly in the recessed mirror as there is no light. This would be really useful. The extractor fan was not working nor were the two lamps which are clearly linked up to this. As someone who owns a Victorian house with a windowless bathroom, I know how important it is to have a clean, working extractor fan to help in the fight against mould. Luckily, it was exceptionally mild during our trip and we were able to open the door to the balcony to let fresh air circulate. I would urge the lettings company to sort this out. Also, be aware that the hot water is run on a modern immersion heater system like a giant kettle. If you are used to a combi boiler, be prepared that the hot water WILL run out. This should be made clear on instructions in the apartment. This would avoid any unnecessary phone calls and panic. Again, I urge the letting agency to make this clear both prior to booking and in the apartment itself. The apartment has good electric radiators, but the tops of them were filthy. Also, the addition of some oven gloves and a baking tray would be really useful please.

Fantastic property, plenty of room with a fantastic view and balcony. Plenty of space and very comfortable. Once you cross the road you are in the town centre which is very convenient. A secure parking space included and a very secure building.
