A true home
This was the perfect place to stay. Midge the host left us so many goodies that had us covered for breakfast and much more - this had never happened to us before, it was so generous and we felt so grateful. The flat was clearly and luckily a place that someone had previously actually lived in before as it truly felt like a home with all the comforts of a cosy home. We also loved all the artsy touches all around the place. Thanks so much Midge we'd definitely love to be back.
The only minor thing we struggled a little with was that the curtains don't really shield the light away so we wore sleep masks as we can't sleep unless we're in full darkness, but this is more a personal preference. Again thanks so much for the lovely treatment.

Nice apartment in good location
It was well decorated and the owners left us bread, milk etc which was really kind.
There was no table or place to properly eat our meals.

Disgusting, dirty, unsafe,

It was dirty, cellotape over light switches, smell of drains, dirty appliances, no curtains in main bedroom, damp, smell of must, half eaten food in fridge, lights not working, dirty shower, dirty bin, dirty cups, scruffy back garden, key box not working, stains on bed, stains on towels, cold, condoms in drawer, unhelpful host. Couldn’t even stay not fit for purpose.

The house had not been cleaned well
Prior to our arrival. Bed in the kids room was not made up and trundle bed was dirty. Washer was not working which would have been helpful to use. Also I would recommend reducing some
Of the extra decor (for example the large bowl on the bistro table prevented us from using the table at all).

Just incredible location and high end apartment 👌
The host went above and beyond to ensure our stay was relaxed and we had everything we needed, this included afternoon tea on arrival, nice bottle wine, tea, coffee, milk, fresh orange juice, breakfast breads, and snacks. The apartment was finished to a very high standard, beds comfortable 👌 highly recommend this apartment definitely be returning 👌

The Lighthouse was Perfect !
A really clean, secure and cosy place with excellent beds. Right on the seafront next to the beaches. Our host also left us a platter of home cooked pastries, copious amounts of snacks/afternoon tea and a large variety of breakfast goodies which were hugely appreciated. Thankyou so much to Midge our excellent host! We would highly recommend. (Also spending a few days seaglass hunting is really good fun and the beaches are beautiful and clean).

Wonderful property, personal touches added, would stay again
The decor was very unique, personal and quirky. On arrival a fresh afternoon tea had been arranged aswell as plenty of snacks and breakfast items for our stay, there were so many personal touches and thought went in

Don't go there.
We liked the complimentary bottle of wine and beer, the snacks, We had understood there were kitchen facilities, but there was a full flat with all kinds of things, fridge, freezer and food. It was clean. It's an upstairs flat over a a shop.
Parking is a problem but not insoluble, as you can find room in the little streets not far away.
This is a new property, we understand, to booking.com.
We returned after our first evening to find water all over the bedroom floor. We rescued our electric things and phoned the landlord, who sent someone around to fix it. He was unable to do so and we had towels and things holding the water overnight, and were promised that someone would be around in the morning, as we were going out at noon. There was no heating on a cold night. And the water dripped all night. We did feel that accidents happen.
We phoned the following morning at 10:30 asking where the workman was, as we had to go out at noon, to find the landlord unaware, it seemed that this was not fixed. He arranged to have someone there when we returned just before 4. The man was not able to fix it, he told us. I then said we would ask for a refund, whereupon he spoke to someone in his own language on his phone and suddenly was able to produce "new nut" to stop the leak, but we still had no heating.
I would have left it at that, but as we left the following day, the people in the shop underneath us showed us a hole in their ceiling, directly underneath where the radiator was, meaning of course that this has been going on for months. There is apparently a legal case going on.
I decided to complain privately to booking.com, to be informed that the landlord wanted to "remind us" that he had given us a bottle of wine by way of apology - which was there when we arrived, and I have yet to receive an apology from him anyhow, The workman certainly said he was sorry for all of this. We have been offered, and received £25 back.
I will not return there. I have a holiday booked for May in Scotland with booking .com, and am seriously thinking of cancelling it.
I have yet to hear back from booking.com, but they did seem to imply that with £25 back and the "apology" we did not receive that this was finished. I don't want money back.

Pleasant
The location is near sea front, you can see the sea from bedroom windows. Very close to restaurants and beach. Netflix etc available.
Very difficult to find the front door, we drove past a couple of times until a waitress from nearby Italian restaurant helped us find it. Shower was a major problem to get water temp correct, one of us gave up trying. Building has subsided, floors not level. The cleaner could be a little bit more thorough.

The funky decor. The central location. Sea view from bedroom. Welcome hamper, including food.. Little note and communication. I felt so at home here and had an incredible stay. I will absolutely stay again.

If you want to visit the beaches at Seaham, this property is in exactly the right spot.
The owners had put a tremendous amount of effort into making our stay comfortable.
The owners provided a very good deal of breakfast options and an unexpected level of treats.
TV and lounge was outstanding.
Beds were extremely comfortable and the property had the feel of a real home.
