Beautiful room, comfortable bed, great views, a good breakfast and a kind and helpful host. In a quiet area but only a 10 minute walk to all the Matera attractions.
Wish there was a desk in my room but no complaints about anything!

Good breakfast selection. We had the room with the large water cistern as a bathroom and a little grassy area with an amazing view. It was perfect and a great respite after a long day of touring. Our host was excellent, probably the best I have ever had. He is very proud of his property and also was very invested in giving us a perfect itinerary and things to do each day. We loved his recommendations and because of them, felt that we really saw Matera and did not need a guided tour. As a travel advisor I have stayed in many places and analyze them not only for my self but my clients as well. This truly is a 10 out of 10. If you have a car there is a carpark right across the way, very convenient. I will send my clients to this place as it is the perfect location. You get a genuine feel for Matera, stay in a unique cave like experience with an amazing host and a wonderful room. It's honestly perfect. As a note. Because you are staying in the Sassi cave dwelling there are many stairs, so this is not a place for those with limited mobility. Matera in general is one big stairmaster.
