Buoy Haus Beach Resort St. Thomas, Autograph Collection

Our expectations were exceeded by the overall quality of this resort. Intimate on its own, but so conveniently close to the Westin, the proximity to the beach is highlight #1. Our ground level suite was 30 seconds to the sand. The Sandbar served lovely small plates and drinks and sat oceanfront. Sugarfin was a fine but casual Asian-Caribbean oceanfront restaurant. It also serves as the primary breakfast spot. The breakfasts were superb! We didn’t eat in Isla Blue but with its 2nd story rooftop oceanfront setting, I bet it hits two sweet spots, food and view. The property is very beautifully landscaped and lovingly maintained by a large crew. Strolling the grounds is lovely. Housekeeping was sometimes slow to arrive but they were very thorough and kept our own “stuff” just as we left it. With about 40 suites the Buoy Haus offers the tranquility you rarely find available. The main lobby area is so inviting…this is open air heaven. Our biggest knock is the lack of service and the condition of the beach. No drinks offered, no food offered, the lounges and umbrellas were poorly maintained, the sand in the sitting areas was not refreshed. Towels seemed to be available but we never saw a person offering us one. The Buoy Haus is a few upgrades away from 5 stars and greater revenue from the sand.

Zero complaints. Very clean. Food was ehh so pack cookies and snacks for the room. For reference at the local supermarket Oreo cookies for a box was 10 dollars. They give you complimentary water each day. All in all wonderful experience.
