CITY MINUTE HOUSE

We spent a wonderful two weeks in this apartment. In reality, the place is even better than in the photos. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean, as were the bed linens and towels. We were pleasantly surprised to find pears, peaches, watermelon, and water in the fridge - it was such a nice touch after a long journey and really helped us refresh and have a quick snack. Huge thanks to the hosts for that! The kitchen also had essentials like salt, sugar, and some spices, along with plenty of dishes and utensils. Another great bonus was the coffee machine with capsules provided for the first few days. The bed was comfortable, and in the bedroom, there was a large, silent ceiling fan — sleeping under it was much more pleasant than using the air conditioner. Check-in was easy, with detailed instructions provided. This wasn’t our first time in Crete, so we didn’t reach out to the hosts for sightseeing tips, but the apartment’s location on a hill turned out to be an advantage - very quiet, yet still close to the center, about a 12-15 minute walk. We’ve stayed on the waterfront before - never again! This time, everything suited us perfectly. It’s hard to say what might be missing - the apartment has everything and even more compared to the average accommodation in Crete. Parking was no problem either. There’s a large free public parking lot nearby, but we often found spots even closer. On Mondays, there’s a market held at the parking area where you can buy fresh local produce — fruits, vegetables, honey, cheese, olive oil, and even fish, which they clean for you. The quality is excellent, and the atmosphere of the market and the warmth of the Greek vendors is unforgettable. One more big plus - we were allowed a late check-out, which helped a lot. Of course, we were lucky, as there were no new guests arriving that day. We’re very grateful to John and Chrysa for creating such a comfortable space.

City Minute House is a cozy, very clean, and well-equipped apartment. I was pleased to find fresh fruit and water in the fridge, coffee pods, and all necessary cleaning supplies including laundry detergent and soap. This was convenient because I didn't have to buy large packages from the supermarket for my short stay. The apartment stayed cool naturally. I kept the balcony doors open, which created nice air flow, so I only needed the air conditioning three times during my stay. I found the electricity system connected to the entrance key very smart and helpful - it gives peace of mind about electrical safety when you’re away, which I always worry about on vacation. The bed was comfortable with quality linens, and the balcony was lovely with a view toward the hill and sun covers for shade. The location was very quiet both day and night. The beach is about a 15-minute relaxed walk downhill. Perhaps shorter 😅, but I always stopped a few minutes to pet the lovely white dog at the house with grey fence on the street going down to the beach - so very cute! The neighborhood has good amenities with three supermarkets nearby (Ynka, Bazaar, and another one), plus coffee shops, chocolateries, bakeries, restaurants, and pharmacies. The post office is not far either, and it's located next to the Municipal Garden, which is a must-see if you love plants and trees. City Minute House has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was amazing. The apartament is in a very quiet area and also you can find a parking spot more than easy. The Rethymno old town is like 15 min. walking. The owner is so nice and he's helping you with any kind of info that you need. We found fresh fruits and cold water in the fridge and he also prepared the apartament for us with about 5-6h early than the usualy check-in time. I've been în many places but far away this one it's the best one. He was responding very fast on any question that we had. I totally recomand this place 'cause for sure you'll be very happy with.
