About this house rental

For a leisurely vacation we have just what you are looking for! This home has a magnificent view of the White River, sunsets, wildlife, and boats going up and down the river loading up on beautiful trout. The view, located high on the bluff looking down on the river and fields, is so breath taking. Cotter, the Trout Capital of America, is minutes from Bull Shores and Norfolk lakes. All though there is no river access from the bluff, the Cotter boat dock, bank fishing and White Sands Cafe are about five minutes away. You can fish the river or lakes (20 minutes) or just sit on the large deck or eat in the screened back porch. We think the view and setting around the fire pit are as much fun as catching Browns and Rainbows. Also, a day trip to Branson (1 hour 20 minutes) is a good break. We like to fish and then make a day trip tp shop at the Bass Pro Shop, outlet malls or take in Silver Dollar City. The house is very homey, offers all the amenities, and boat parking. We think you will love it as much as we do! We have two King beds and one bunk bed.

Two considerations that, I am sure, Harvey Hicks is aware of. 1) neighbor doing everything possible to dissuade VRBO bookings with his public displays. 2) Kitchen culinary (pots, pans, utensils etc) could use some upgrading. Other than these two fine points, our stay was fine.

Beautiful home sitting high above the White River - Checkin and out super easy Amenities aplenty Would stay again - top notch place for a couple or larger group! Clean- comfy beds- so much space inside and out. Neighbors were quiet (never saw them) Oh, and bald eagles were nesting right below the deck. Wow !!

The house was clean and cozy. I was very happy to find the back bedroom had a tempurpedic type mattress. I needed that one. We had a great time. Yes I know the neighbors on the right are a little different - but we never heard anything from them, and they didn't bother us. Will definitely be staying here again!

The neighbor on the north side of the property obviously does not like vrbo, and displays offensive signs and flags in a transparent attempt to promote negative reviews. They were not a problem, however, and did not affect my enjoyment. I would stay there again.

We where in town for a work function at ranger boats. This property was less than 10 minutes from ranger, close to bull schoals, and several places to eat. Communication with the host was easy. Would stay again

We had the best time in our first time at Cotter! The house has a large circle drive which is great for a boat and larger vehicles. All the bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect. Super clean place. The kitchen had everything we needed. The best part was the multiple decks. One that was enclosed with a large table. There is a pass through from the kitchen that made it easy to get food to and from. AND another deck with a beautiful view!!! We loved every minute!! The neighbor is crazy- just ignore because it doesn’t affect your stay or the beauty!!

This property was exactly as described. We had a great stay and enjoyed our time there. We were close to Mountain Home and the Buffalo river. The only "issues" we had were from the next door neighbor. They played loud music late at night and had questionable flags flying all over their property. We ignored the music and disrespectful flags and tried to enjoy our time together as a family.

Great place for a guys fishing trip. The house is well furnished. The screened in deck is wonderful for morning coffee and dinners. The view overlooking the river is beautiful. Unfortunately, the neighbor’s display of various flags and signs was the reason for 3 stars for “neighborhood”. As another reviewer wrote, I would not recommend this house for non-white or Jewish guests. Our stay went well and the owner was good to work with.

Everything was great and as advertised for the actual property where we stayed. Non-white or Jewish guests will want to look elsewhere as the neighboring property was not friendly -- to put it very mildly. We were definitely uncomfortable. Please ask the owner if you want further details.
