Plymouth Hoe - Beautiful 5 Bedroom Victorian House - Central Location

Such a big house and beautiful. 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Lovely ambience and features.

Needs a little refurb/painting and kitchen sink tap wasn’t fixed correctly:

Central location , spacious house, comfortable beds, house clean.

The property is run down. Mould patches and patchy paintwork in quite a few places. The dining area was too hot to eat and the patio door does not open or close properly. It is also unsafe as there is a step just behind where you sit so if you push your chair back after eating you can fall down. The ironing board had no cover so you couldn’t iron anything if you wanted to. Only a few windows open and the house ends up very stuffy and hot. There are missing smoke detectors and the windows need washing as they are very dirty, regular window cleaner would be great. Only one kitchen tea towel for a week (there is no dishwasher so have to dry dishes with wet towel). The frying pan needs to be replaced as it could not even fry an egg as they end up all stuck to it. The en suite shower on the middle floor needs to be sorted, the water either too hot or cold, we end up using only 2 out of 3 showers. The sink in there also has no water pressure at all, there are no working privacy locks on any of the toilets which a bit strange when 10 people can share the house. The toilet brush was broken on the middle floor, which could be easily replaced. Parking is very tight and only one space for a big party.

Great location and size of house/bedrooms was perfect for a big group! 3 bathrooms is really useful and the house felt modern and spacious.

The property is a little run down, a door handle in one of the bedrooms came off completely and there was a hanging rail hanging off in a bedroom with some bare screws. For such a big house, more amenities in the kitchen would have been good, a dishwasher, more than one tea towel etc, however this didnt dampen our stay for a long weekend.

Location was convenient. Large high ceiling rooms. Spacious

Poor maintenance. Ensuite shower has an uncontrollable temperature and is dangerously hot. Only a dribble of water from the was basin. In the kitchen the sink tap was loose and flopping all over the place. The dining area is a single storey extension with little insulation and in a poor state of repair. Communications were poor. The contact number published by Booking.com was answered by a man who said "I don't work for them anymore "
