Duke of York Cottage, Port Sunlight - Stanley-Stays

We had a fabulous stay here. The cottage is very quaint and very well equipped, everything is good quality and we had all we needed. Extremely comfy beds and although the train line runs right past, it didn't bother us. Right on the edge of the village, easy walking to Port Sunlight museum which is well worth a visit, wandering round the whole village admiring the different architecture, also the Bridge over the Dell where we found a super tea shop - Tudor Rose. It's just 15 mins drive to Seacombe where we hopped on the Mersey Ferry over to Liverpool to explore. We didn't use any of the pubs but there's a supermarket just across the road. Great little find, will definitely come again.

Nothing at all. Just a suggestion - a couple of garden chairs would be useful. We took 2 of the kitchen chairs out to sit on the front during the lovely sunny evenings.

Excellent location, pub, train station and shop nearby. Really lovely, cosy place. Our contact was very accommodating.

We loved how picturesque the houses are in Port Sunlight. It’s such a treat to stay in one. We love the aesthetic of the house and it is surprisingly peaceful too. Furnishings are stylish and original features are beautifully kept. The art on the walls celebrates the village beautifully. We had enough room to have our daughter and boyfriend over to spend an evening with us and it’s close to the train station so getting in and out of Liverpool is easy too.

The only thing I struggled with was the mattress as it was quite hard.

Comfortable bed, spacious, close to Aldi.

We stayed for one week yet only one tea towel, no oven mitts, no tea bags, no microwave cooking containers. There was only one roll of toilet paper, one garbage bag and no shampoo etc. The oven is very dirty and needs a clean.
