Comfy house in a fantastic community
This was a great property, a listed building in Port Sunlight, which is a village we already knew and loved. Large living room, big dining table in the kitchen/diner. Two big bedrooms and a bathroom with both a bath AND a walk in shower. Good efficient heating, warm and cosy property.
A few minor repairs would have made the property even better, for example the back door was an effort to shut as had warped a little in the wet weather.

Brilliant place. Brilliant host. Brilliant location
The location in Port Sunlight is perfect. Within easy walking distance, the railway station, an abundance of great cafes, an art gallery that blew my mind with its collection. The village itself is exquisite, planned to house workers in dignity. The cottage is beautifully proportioned and when my daughter joined me she observed how the house seems to welcome the guests. It has an atmosphere that makes you feel at home . I think the proportions used in architecture have an effect on the human psyche. Lord Lever wanted his employees to be healthy and happy and have access to beauty and education as well as good housing. We were there when it snowed so the village looked even more magical. Everything about the place is harmonious in our experience. Stan the host responded promptly to messages and he went above and beyond as my daughter had arranged for something to be delivered to the cottage. The Royal Mail didn't uphold its promise to deliver on a certain day and the host offered to post it on. Above and beyond. Bless him!
The venetian blinds were stuck when we arrived there so that needed attention. Personally I do not like non stick pans as I believe them to be toxic. So to make the place perfect its needs functioning blinds and better quality saucepans! But honestly I can't think of much to criticise. I loved the house.

Manger was eager to please but neglected checking and restocking unit before hand
no breakfast was included only a bottle of milk in the fridge no coffee for the coffee pot Tea Pot was full of mold or something at bottom so I boiled water on the stove instead of tea pot I let the owner know I'm sure he will replace it
only 1 garbage bag so none to refill the garbage can in kitchen no shampoo no conditioner no body soap for bath or shower limited towels only 2 towels ran out of toilet paper had to use paper towels When you are traveling for 3 days only it is nice to NOT have to buy these things otherwise I could have stayed at a hotel.

Perfect for a little break, and easy to travel about.
Great location, lovely welcome basket, comfortable space, super clean and spacious. Loved the area, easy to get into Liverpool, and the owner was a good communicator. Loved that there was a Christmas tree!
The back door was really hard to open and close, and the kitchen wasn’t as warm as the rest of the house.

Delightful property, felt very at home.
Port Sunlight is a fascinatingly unique village and well worth a visit. The property is delightful and tastefully decorated with many interesting historic details. The bathroom is just WOW! The photos don't do it justice. We instantly felt very at home. There were some very thoughtful touches such as the lights being switched on to prevent stumbling around in the dark on a winter night and a pint of milk in the fridge for a warming cuppa. The renter was easy to communicate with. Having an Aldi just up the road was extremely handy especially if you're travelling there by train and can't bring many supplies.
The property isn't easy to find using Google Maps, it wants to take you to the rear of the house for entry via the back gate which is locked from the inside. I asked for exact details which were sent quickly and easy to follow. An outside light would be handy to see the keybox if arriving when it's dark. The Hive heating system is a little difficult to use, kept defaulting to 7 degrees which was a bit too chilly for November. The TV was even more of a challenge. Perhaps a folder containing simple typed out instructions for those unfamiliar with these items could be put together.

Cosy Cottage in a magical Village …….read on Beatles Fans !
It’s a beautiful, cosy, spacious cottage in a rare ,frozen in time, magical bubble.I love its history,I love the Beatles connection and I rate Port Sunlight as one of the nicest places in the UK to visit and stay ( I have covered my travel pin board,in flags for the whole of the UK) I don’t mind passing trains and they were not excessively loud at all.Cant recommend enough.People with a bedroom curtain problem, should perhaps try the blind instead! Yes,the curtains are decoration only.We took 2 miniature dachshunds who were occupied for 2 day’s,investigating previous canine visitors scents. All good though,I could not smell dogs at all.No problem with mattresses but may have been replaced ?
Reading all the other reviews- I think it would help future guests to know what is and isn’t available at the cottage.I must agree that I had expected shower gel/ soap in the bathroom and there was none.We did have fresh milk and more than 2 teabags. It would be useful to know about a hospitality tray in kitchen ie.tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits and cooking utensils available, even if just the basics are there ie.plates/bowls/cups/glasses and standard cutlery.Locks on kitchen door need fixing, especially 2 bolts.

Overall very happy
The lovely character of the house and village, the interesting history and the proximity to Liverpool
I didn’t realise there would be no shower gel or shampoo. Otherwise everything was great

Perfect for our visit to family and friends on the Wirral and to visit the sights.
Historic nature of area and property. Large rooms, well furnished and appliances all good. Location good to access local attractions. Warm, clean. No need to contact the owner. We were comfortable and happy with it all. We will re book.
It was all good. There’s a blind needing replacing in the lounge.
