Good and very bad

We travelled by car so the location was decent as we were close to Varenna and Bellano which is cute as well.

I didn’t like that we have to pay extra to stay warm. The apartment was freezing cold due to the bad weather and I’m told that it is local law that they cannot turn on the heating until mid October which is fine, however they wanted to charge us €30 for wood to use the fireplace. The fireplace was the only source of heating. I told the landlady that heating is listed in the description and we have been seriously misled by false advertising. Furthermore, we had the optional pizza and dessert for the first night, which was handy for convenience but at €17 euros each for a pizza and desert it was heavily overpriced as I’ve had many frozen pizzas which are better. Finally I was excepted to pay €20 city tax which booking.com said should only be €12 euros based on the stay. Under normal circumstances I would have accepted this as a mistake however the extra money that they try and get out of you in my eyes is unpleasant and unnecessary.

Stunning base for adventures around Lake Como.

Situated above the town of Bellano where there is a train station and easy access to the motorway, making it perfect for getting around Lomio. Stunning views from the balcony, very friendly and helpful host who made us laugh a lot and cooks a good pizza! Fresh towels were provided every day and the place was extremely clean. The house is modern, roomy and gets a nice cool breeze which makes up for the lack of air-conditioning (don't be put off by this as it was 35deg.C when we were visiting and it was bearable if managed properly). The walk down into Bellano and back out of it takes a good 30 minutes each way and is very steep so bear this in mind if you don't plan on hiring a car. We enjoyed this hike though and the views you get as you walk down are amazing. There is a rental shop in Dervio called "Funsurf Centre" who rent out watersports equipment at a very reasonable price - much better than other ones I saw advertised in Bellagio and Como. Be sure to watch the sun go down from the balcony as it sets over the mountain peak on the opposite side of the lake.

The bed was uncomfortable and the meals offered by the host were a little on the expensive side. The owner's dogs kept howling and the WiFi connected but didn't work at all.

the best place

Our host was amazing. The house is in the mountains, very cozy, quiet and beautiful views. Nearby there is a restaurant with local cuisine and a trekking trail - you can walk along it. We were without a car, but the host organized a transfer to the house. And she made pizza for a snack after arriving. It was the best experience on vacation - I would like to come back again.

Prima appartement als je beschikt over een auto en vitaal bent.

Het was een verzorgd appartement met parkeerplaats vlakbij en een leuk terras met in de verte zicht op het meer. Heel vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel. Ondanks enkele bedenkingen hadden we een prima verblijf.

Soms wat misleidende info. Je kon reserveren voor pizza "gebakken op houtvuur geserveerd op terras met zicht op het meer", hele dikke (gekochte?)pizza op eigen terras en dat voor een duurdere prijs als op restaurant. Er stonden 2 wijnglazen en een fles wijn uitnodigend op tafel, het was geen welkom maar werd aangerekend. Ontbrekende info. Niet echt toegankelijk voor minder vitale mensen, een fikse klim voor je aan het appartement bent. Je hebt de auto nodig om aan het dorp te geraken.

Dreck und Schimmel überall. Viele Spinnweben und Bewohner derer. Habe Fotos gemacht. Die ganze Wohnung roch feucht und muffig. Es war extrem kalt, es gab keine Bettdecken und keine Heizung. Das Frühstück war eine Frechheit für 30€, nichteinmal Brot gab es. Bett sehr hart. Gastgeberin super nervig, obwohl wir im Vorfeld alles mitgeteilt hatten wollte sie uns dauern ein Essen oder weitere Frühstücks andrehen. Handtücher haben extrem gestunken, sehr säuerlich, wie Kotze. Haben erst 16 Stunden nach Anfrage neue bekommen. Jede Antwort der Gastgeberin auf ein Problem wurde mit einer Lüge beantwortet, eigentlich skandalös das ganze. Eine Frechheit dass so etwas auf Booking angeboten wird!!! 10000% nie wieder!!!
