A day in khaki - Muromachi

The property was expectational, relaxing and beautiful. I only missed a hot plate from the kitchen. Would have been nice to cook just a breakfast because near by breakfast places didn’t offer much. Out of this everything was amazing.

The house is very well-designed, a well-balanced renovated machiya with beautiful details here and there. We really liked how the location is not in the midst of a touristy area, but still easily accessible with private cars and public transport. Kevin, the host, went beyond to make us comfortable and made our stay memorable. He was really helpful in assisting us with sending our luggages from and to Tokyo. The small garden within the house is really beautiful, we enjoyed having to wake up every morning to the view. Facilities inside the house came in handy, like the washing and dryer machine, small oven, sink, hair dryer, air con and many more small appliances that just made our stay felt like we were in a serviced hotel. Highly recommend for families travelling together to Japan who wants to experience an authentic Kyoto scene.

This does not take away any positive points from my review, but it would be great if there were more mirrors in the property.

The design and layout was perfect. Very accommodating staff.

Location slightly out of the way but not the worst thing when so many people in the city centre.
