South Shore Updated 2 Bdrm! Gameroom/Indoor Hot tub! Super Amenities! Sleeps 8!

We were in Hot Springs for a family wedding and chose these accommodations because of price, location and size. We had 4 adults staying overnight and 2 adults and 1-6 ft man-child stopping by to shower & change before the event.I needed to make sure we had no stairs or long walks as my husband has mobility issues. Considering that info wasn't spelled out in the listing, I sent a message asking and got a prompt response assuring me they could meet our needs.When we received check in info, I verified the type of coffee pot, K-cup or ground coffee style. This was the one and only discrepancy. I was told the unit had both but it wasn't K-cup friendly. No problem as that had a free pack ready for our use.The leasing representative even realized they'd booked us in a unit requiring stairs and corrected it before our arrival. Which told me they did their due diligence in meeting our needs without being asked. We have already discussed a return visit to take in the local sites...

This was a good deal for the price, for sure. Here are the things I liked about our stay:Two separate bedrooms and bathrooms (my wife and I slept in one room and my two tweenagers each got their own bed). This unit had nice views of the lake and surrounding area from every room. It was comfortable and everything worked.Here are some things that the listing won't tell you: It's true that the place has been recently renovated, but not all of it. The thermostat might be from the 1970s, as was the jetted tub/shower. They worked, but definitely not up to date. This unit is on the middle story of three. The last night we stayed, we had some folks above us. Their footsteps were quite loud, but luckily they didnt stay up late..if you're a light sleeper, maybe keep looking as it was pretty easy to hear other people moving around in the other units.The overall property (South Shore Lake Resort) is a mixed bag. The cabana (ping pong, billiards, board games) was fun for the kids. The upper pool was not super clean and even my kids didn't want swim in it after the first time. The spa was cleaner, but it's falling apart and needs significant refurbishment. The tennis/pickleball courts looked nice, but we didn't use them.Overall, if you need a comfortable place and you're not super picky this is a good place with value.

This is my 2nd time renting this property… plan to be back again next year !

The overall stay was wonderful. We only had one complaint and it was the fact that the AC unit was not cooling off at all. Maintenance was amazing to bring in 2 box fans to help but they also said there wasn't anything wrong with AC unit that it was just too hot outside for it to really cool down.
