Peaceful Lakefront House on Lake Hamilton

Everything was as advertised and off the beaten path. We really enjoyed our time there and all essentials were provided. Very quiet and peaceful place especially out on the floating dock. Great view of the lake and near everything.

There a few things that I felt that should've been addressed. Like the sofa cushions should've been vacuumed out and the refrigerator that had a leak attended to. The 3rd bedroom to bathroom difference was a little odd... but we managed through. The BBQ grill was... small! Still was able to cook 8 (1 inch) steaks on there. Other than that, the house was NICE for the location. PEACEFUL MORNINGS, AFTERNOON, AND EVENINGS. Close enough to reach all the sites and scenery nearby. Plenty of firewood and nice amenities inside the house for a comfortable stay! Will recommend for more of a family stay, not for a couples retreat due tonthe 3rd bathroom situation. All in all... it's worth it!

Responsive host. Easy access to the property. Secluded cove. Nice views. Bathrooms were a bit on the prefab side. Overall good stay.

If 3 stars is "OK" as VRBO suggests, then I'm sharing this as an honest review. When we first turned onto the road, we thought we were in the wrong location as the first thing you see is what appears to be a junkyard for old boat docks. From the pictures, this homes looks like it is in a nice private location, but the homes on either side are actually quite close. There is a bright security light shining into the bedrooms and master bathroom which couldn't be turned off. It made me wonder about the location if such a light is required. Within our first 24 hours, I had killed a couple of spiders and two sizeable roaches in the main bedroom. These are some of the reasons for my "Cleanliness" and "Location" ratings. On the positive side, the cabinets were well-stocked with dishes, silverware, and anything else you would want. The fire pit was nice with plenty of firewood. The furniture inside was comfortable, but the outside sofa was quite dirty. The dock with the chairs is nice, but you have to be careful of the wires used to keep the chairs from blowing away. We've used VRBO 5-6 times in the past. Typically, homes are "as advertised" or a little better; however, our experience with this home was that it looks better in pictures than in-person. This is the first time I have been disappointed and written a negative review. For the same amount of money, we have stayed at much nicer homes with much better locations.
