Madison Hotel

This was a large king sized bed plus a twin sized bed bedroom. The room was extremely quiet, as it faced the internal courtyard, and functional. But the star rating goes to the young staff at the hotel reception, who really seem to go out if their way to make sure guests are having a nice stay in Rome.

A few steps from Termini. Somewhat "bare-boned", but good bathroom with water pressure, A/C, and a comfortable bed. Breakfast nothing special but OK. For the money, good value. Convenience the main virtue, with a supermarket about 40 metres away.

The hotel is very convenient, just across Termini Station. The reception looks nice and modern. The layout of the floor - 5th , which I stayed is like a maze. Although there are clear signs as to where to find my room, I believed I had walked through many narrow corridors and made close to 10 turns, left and right, before I reached my room. I still didn’t manage to get to the elevator right away by the time I checked out. The room is big but looks old , with a king sized bed, and 2 bedside tables. The furniture is old and worn. There is a TV but no antenna to make it work. So is the telephone, there’s no telephone line. There are no minibar, no mugs or glasses provided, no kettle, no complimentary tea or coffee, which one expects that to be standard. The toilet is quite clean though, there is hot water and enough water pressure to take comfortable showers. The beddings are quite clean but pillows are rather flat, and the mattress soft. Breakfast is good, or at least standard, no complaint.
