Friday Suites

Our stay at the Friday Suites was quite extraordinary. Our expectations were high, but Abu-Fasial far exceeded them. The fact that he was born in AlUla and has lived there all his life gives him an extraordinary depth of knowledge, which he shares with generosity and enthusiasm. We had engaged him for a one-day tour, but he gave us his time and attention over three days, making it clear that he cared about our stamina and well-being. He also knows everything about local dining options, and goes out of his way to accommodate his guests. It was a master class in classic Arab hospitality, and we both felt very sad to say goodbye.

Nothing! Our bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was immaculate and quiet. Even the extreme August heat was tolerable under Abu-Fasial’s guidance.

The host, Abu Faisal, was phenomenal. He helped me get a rental car. He told me about all the places I should visit and send me the links on how to book them or where to find them. For any questions I could reach out to him and he would help me. The bed was super comfortable. Everything was very clean and the location is great.

The room was satisfactory, and Abofasil, the owner, was responsive to our requests by providing an extra bedspread and an iron.

We found Abofasil to be very focused on selling his guide services, approaching us with offers immediately upon arrival. After a long journey from Riyadh to Al-Ula, we would have appreciated a more welcoming and less sales-driven approach. Despite indicating that we would consider his offers, he continued to pressure us to book immediately, insisting that activities might sell out. Even after declining, he contacted us again the next day via WhatsApp during our own sightseeing. Additionally, we received a payment reminder for our stay one day before departure, which felt unusual and somewhat pressuring compared to standard hotel practices. Our stay was also disturbed by loud noises at night (possibly maintenance work or children playing above us), which made it difficult to sleep. Overall, while some requests were handled well, the persistent sales approach and disturbances detracted from our experience
