We had a great, relaxing family weekend in Vreni’s Ferienwohnung.

The apartment is bright, spacious and has a cozy dining/living area. The bedrooms are clean and well furnished. The apartment is very well located, near stores and close to the station.

The kitchen design/layout has room for improvement.

Popeth am y lle. Everything about the place. The apartment has 4 bedrooms, spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen and immediately opposite SPAR shop in the centre of the beautiful village of Gais. Gais is centrally located on the charming Appelzen Railway with regular trains every 30 minutes down to historic regional capital St Gallen, over the mountain to Altstatten, and also towards Appelzen itself, one of the prettiest villages in Switzerland. All the East Switzerland peaks and cable cars - including Mount Santis can be reached from Gais within 20-40 minutes by train and post bus. Our favourite is Hohen Kasten from which there are sweeping views over the mountain range and Bodensee (Lake Constance) and Liechtenstein. In the village there is a beautiful church opposite on the other side and a pizzeria (which also does oriental food at - for Switzerlnad - reasonable prices), and there are many walks in the surrounding area. BEST OF ALL - this is one of the few reasonably priced accommodations which offers the OSKAR Card. For approx £15 per day (half for children), you get access to practically all public transport in East Switzerland - trains, trams, buses, boats on Bodensee AND Cable Cars - Santis Cable Car alone costs £50 return normally ! Bonus is the friendly owner Vreni who takes pride in the property, and also her friend at the upstairs flat who is very helpful and speaks French and a lot of English as well as Deutsch.

Terrible Smell - Vacated within 3 hour of Occupancy

The Apartment smelt terrible , we vacated it after 3 hours and found had to find a last minute alternative on a Saturday afternoon . We had booked and paid for a 6 night stay no apology not offer of any refund despite the smell preventing our stay. Understand the no refund policy of Booking.com but expected more from the owners .Kids receiving medical treatment in Gais , no way we could stay with this musty smelly smells. Unhealthy ! Also need to be under 6 foot tall to move about the apartment

Great value and location!

The price was a great value as my family could spread out in multiple bedrooms all for the same price. The church bells rang often, but with the windows closed, the noise did not bother anyone in my family overnight. The Spar grocery store across the street worked great for buying food for breakfasts. We also used the hosts raclette cheese set-up for a traditional Swiss meal of raclette cheese, potatoes, broccoli, and sausage. What a treat and fun experience!

The low ceilings, especially in the kitchen, we're described in earlier reviews. At six feet tall, I had to watch my head, but it was very manageable and I never hit my head.

A very cozy and spacious apartment with multiple bedrooms that allow privacy even for larger groups is located in a picturesque village and offers a convenient position for trips to the mountains as well as to Vaduz and other interesting destinations in the vicinity. Communication with the owner was smooth. The apartment is superbly equipped, and I hope we will be able to return there next year. The house is located on a quiet street that leads directly to the square, so you are both in a peaceful environment and right in the center of the town. The greatest advantage is the private parking space that is available, as well as a very pleasant outdoor seating area, which we happily used for breakfast or afternoon coffee.

Super! Prachtige omgeving en met een Spar aan de overkant een uitstekende plek om te logeren.

Het appartement was schoon en gezellig. Het is een ouder pand van 200 jaar waarin de kamers wat een lager plafon hebben. Dit is wel iets waar je rekening mee moet houden als je 185 of groter bent. Bedden zijn wel extra lang dus geen zorgen. En er zijn voldoende (5) slaapkamers . De douche is heerlijk, we zouden graag weer eens terug komen :)

Bijna niets.. het heeft alleen in de keuken een laag plafon, maar dat is prima!

Piacevolmente sorpreso

Appartamento carino, molto montano, vecchio ma con stile (insomma, la casa di tua nonna) ma con un tocco di modernità: finestre con tripli vetri, WIFI performante, tv smart (che non abbiamo utilizzato). L'appartamento ha un bagnetto con una bella doccia incavata, fino a 5 camere da letto, soggiorno, cucina con il necessario per cucinare. Presente il frigetto con delle birre che la proprietaria ci ha lasciato, presente anche la macchina del caffè che macina i chicchi sul momento (caffè buono). Al piano sopra abita un'amica della proprietaria che ci ha accolgo subito dopo (con mia sorpresa parla anche italiano). Al piano di sotto, se necessario, avevamo a disposizione il bagno di servizio (essendo in 4 ci stava). Attenzione ai più alti di statura! Se siete alti da 180cm in su in certi punti (cucina, ingresso e camera vicino al bagno) sbattete la testa!! E' indicato nella descrizione dell'appartamento comunque questa esperienza l'ho vissuta essendo alto 185cm. Per il resto: parcheggio in loco nel giardino dell'appartamento, supermercato Spar/Despar esattamente davanti, pizzeria con cucina italo/indiana di fianco (pizza onesta, gelati molto buoni), stazione ferroviaria a 400metri/5 minuti a piedi utile per muoversi nei paesi limitrofi quali Appenzello e simili, se volete arrivate a San Gallo in 30 minuti circa senza cambiare. Quindi sì: in generale esperienza positiva.

Nulla di particolare. La bassa altezza dell'appartamento non la considero un difetto in quanto è segnalato nell'annuncio. Ecco forse le campane della chiesta un pò rumorose ma non è colpa dell'appartamento. Nel mio piccolo ho dormito con i tappi ed il loro scampanare anche di notte non mi ha dato fastidio.

Heerlijke vakantie gehad.

Prima accommodatie, heerlijk kneuterig , prima bedden en douche. Je gaat beetje terug naar grootmoeders tijd.

Geen handige woning voor als je boven de 1.90 bent. Super lage plafons. Mijn man heeft vaak zijn hoofd gestoten aan lagere steunbalk.
