AMIGO HOUSE

I usually stay in the dorm room but reserved the private double room as I had a friend traveling with me who ended up leaving beforehand. So, that meant the room was super roomy! The artwork on the walls made it fun, though the base coat is medium grey, which made reading a bit difficult at night. The night lamp (really retro cool) was good as a night light, but not a reading lamp. The desk has a working lamp, and a rolling chair. The bed is firm and comfortable. Wish I could take it home. Entry is with a code for the digital keypad - sent ahead of time. There is laundry available for JPY500 which includes washing and drying and takes up to 3 hours. I opted for just the wash and hung to dry my stuff in my room with a drying rack provided. It still cost JPY500. The kitchen is complete with gas stove, toasting / oven below, filtered water dispenser for cold, lukewarm, or hot, sink, cookware, dishes, and flatware. Snacks are available for sale on the Honor System, as well as the Laundry payment. The common areas include several desks with individual lamps and large backets for holding backpacks or briefcases so they're not on the floor directly. There are sofas as well, and a dining table. It all looks out to a garden in the back of the unit. This is one of my Go To places whenever I visit Hayama or Kamakura. Akira is super chill and a considerate owner of this lovely place!

Separate cost for wash only? I can't think of anything really - this place is great!
