Pros: Although the wider area also offers many dream beaches, we stayed at three in the immediate vicinity, where you can decide whether to rent umbrellas and sunbeds or take own care of your own enjoyment of the beach.
If you love privacy and peace, you will find it in this area. The center of Casalabate, which can be easily reached on foot, although it is more frequented and noisier in the evenings, still offers a relaxing alternative to the besieged most popular tourist destinations.
Nevertheless, we easily made day trips to Ostuni, Matera and Alberobello, and in the evenings we sometimes took a relaxing walk around the stunningly beautiful Lecce and enjoyed local delicacies.
