Scenic, clean, quiet and perfect

Given that we knew it was a small space we were worried we would feel cramped but the owners have made excellent use of the space and you have everything you could possibly need. The outside space was also fantastic and well kept.

Brilliant location, facilities and cosy stay!

We loved the location - just a little off the main road and down a quiet path so no traffic noise. Loved the amenities, everything you need! Beds are so comfy and more than plenty space for my partner and I. Bit of a shame that we couldn’t use the fire pit due to the rain but that’s just Scottish weather at its finest!

Serene… the perfect spot to unwind

Perfect location (and easy to find), peaceful… and stunning skies 🤩 Super clean, warm and cosy. Comfortable bed. Dog friendly- accommodation and owners! Had the pleasure of meeting the cutest baby donkey 😍 Big thanks to both Pete and Mandy- we will be recommending to others and hope to be back!

Everything!!!! Amazing place! The accommodation had everything you needed. It was so relaxing and I wished we had booked a second night to relax , before continuing our road trip. The hosts were wonderful and we helpful. I would 100% recommend!

We had a fantastic stay here! The place was clean, comfortable, and perfectly located with a stunning view – ideal for a wee stopover on the NC500. The host was absolutely lovely – so welcoming, chatty, and incredibly helpful. We especially appreciated how accommodating they were with our two dogs, which made our stay even more relaxed. Would definitely recommend and love to return!

Absolutely stunning location and beautiful cabin

You could not find a more beautiful place to stay, the scenery is out of this world. The cabin is very modern, very clean, comfy, and the owners were lovely and very welcoming, you can buy fresh eggs too which are delicious for breakfast.

Tiny but mighty

The place was very clean and well thought out. We found fresh eggs & milk in the fridge when we arrived. Nice small deck with latched door to keep our dog safe while we sat outside. Great location close to lots of ancient sites. Pete was so nice chatting with us a few times & giving us some sightseeing tips.

Truly the best place for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

We stayed at the chalet as a family — myself, my husband, our daughter and our little dog— and it was absolutely perfect. The views are breathtaking, the chalet was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind, which made our experience even more special. Truly the best place for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

Lovely warm welcome from the owners on arrival. Excellent location for nc500. Wonderful cosy cabin with everything you need. Really comfy beds slept great very peaceful. Nice and warm too wouldn’t have known it was windy outside. Family of 4 and a dog and all facilities were great. Plenty of towels and hot water!! Cooked a full meal in the kitchen the evening we were there no problem. Fenced area of AstroTurf just out front so we could let the dog out regularly safely. Visited the caster cairns 5 minutes away on owner recommendations and so glad we did! Lovely spot a little treasure I’m so glad we found!

The senga pod was amazing. The kitchen had all the equipment you would need even an air fryer. Beds were very comfortable had the most amazing sleep. Views were beautiful and outdoor seating was just lovely to sit and relax with a coffee on a sunny morning.We had only booked one night but would loved to have stayed for longer. Mandy and Pete are lovely hosts and we would highly recommend this accomadation on your NC 500 trip or even just a place to recharge the batteries.

We absolutely loved our stay at the windy roost. Hosts are welcoming and friendly. Lots of attention to detail in the cabin. It's so close to Wick & John O Groats if you are doing the NC500 route, this is on the East route The cabin has all mod cons, you can sit outside with your coffee and see a sea view. Fantastic

It was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed every minute of our time there. Pete and Wendy were lovely people and I felt so at home. I had a wonderful nights sleep in the most comfy bedding I’ve ever slept in! We will definitely be back! Hopefully to see the sunrise this time.

I loved everything about our stay here, the cabin was beautiful (and brand new) everything inside has been well thought out and immaculate. The bed was very comfy and there was room For children too (if you have some). The views were so pretty, I could see mountains and sea from my cabin. Peaceful location and the hosts couldn't do enough to help us. Thankyou so much Mandy and Pete
