The Capanna is a small independent cottage in the middle of the woods, but just 20 km away from the center of Florence. It is part of a medieval property called Castellare, that includes private woods, meadows and olive trees. It's a lovely location for recharging onself in nature, in a home that is furnished with love, and with the comforts that make a stay at home enjoyable. The Capanna has one bedroom, a bathroom, and an open space that is a kitchen , dining aera and living room. There is also a sofabed for two people.
There is a patio outside the livingroom door with table and chairs, and the swimming pool, shared with the other guests of the Castellare property, is just a few steps away.

There are two small villages nearby, Santa Brigida and Molino del Piano, and Florence is a short drive away.

We had the most wonderful stay of two weeks. Catina and Jack are wonderful hosts and immediately there to help at any time of the day or night. If you are looking for an absolutely remote location in the nature this is a great place. Especially in August when it is much cooler in the hills than in the villages.

This was exactly what we had hoped it would be. Away from the chaos of the tourist areas, in beautiful countryside, an interesting building to stay in, and a fantastic host. Catina is warm and friendly and she and her partner Giacomo are the perfect hosts. Their wine and cake on arrival and homemade tiramisu later in the week were 👌🏻!
They made us feel very welcome and were very accommodating to our young baby. We would love to come back!

My husband and I stayed with Catina for a week earlier this month. Catina is a very personable and hospitable. We love her and hope to remain in contact. The cottage that we stayed in was very charming and spotless. The scenery on the drive up to the cottage was outstanding and we got to see some deer on the property. We would definitely stay with Catina again!!
