Ideally located in Tuscany in the very peaceful and green Mugello valley. Rare to find such a big house. Perfect also for 2 families. Big private garden with swimming-pool. Beautiful view from the panoramic tower on the Appenninin mountains. Only 30 km from Florence.

This is a huge house dating from the mid 19th century. Spending a holiday there is a pretty unique experience. It is equipped with modern facilities as listed in the property description, but some things, such as the Wi-Fi, are limited both by the solidity of the house and the rural location. We found the outside seating area was where we ate and spent a lot of time. It was especially serene in the evening when the sun was going down and the bats came out and flitted across the sky.The

We stayed here for a week, three families with teenagers. The house is marvellous, so many rooms and so much history inside these walls. We made most of our food in the large well-equipped kitchen and ate all meals outside in the shadow in front of the house. The kids played table tennis all day and we sang around the piano. The pool is great. Besides Florence (Firenze) which is easy accessible by train from the nearby town there’s a lake with a beach about 15 minutes away and several nice vineyards and beautiful restaurants in the surroundings.There’s no AC but if you close the window shutters during the hot hours and use the fans you will be alright. Go see this marvellous place!

The house has a rich history dating back to the 16th century. It has everything you need. Great for groups. Beautiful scenery, very quiet. The gardens are beautiful. Close to everything in town, yet remote enough to unwind.

Our month at Villa Montazzi was truly special. Where else would you have a chance to live in a villa once owned by members of the Medici family? We invited family and friends to join us at various times throughout our stay. The villa was huge, with ample room for us to visit or be on our own. The beds were very comfortable, the washer and dishwasher were very much appreciated. The pool was enjoyed even though we were there in September - October. There are plenty of very good restaurants within 3 km, so a car is a must. Borgo San Lorenzo is a lovely town full of friendly people and had everything we needed. The train from BSL was reliable and perfect for going into Florence or up to some of the villages in the mountains. Overall, it was a fun adventure of a lifetime. The only downside was the mosquitos in the evening. Some, but not all, of our guests were very much bothered by them so couldn't sit outside at night. Our host did leave plenty of bug spray etc. and we did learn that it was an unusually buggy year.

The pictures do not do this villa justice. It is absolutely gorgeous. Luca was a very responsive host, and Carmen, the housekeeper, was very helpful throughout our stay. My group was looking for a monthlong getaway in the Tuscan countryside and it's exactly what we got. A car is necessary for getting to and from Borgo San Lorenzo, and the trains to and from Florence do not run late, so be prepared for a rural experience or to do multiday trips to other parts of Italy. I will absolutely book again the next time I find myself wanting to go to Tuscany.

Hemos pasado 10 días fantásticos en esta villa que parece dormida en el tiempo. La casa es grande y perfecta para dos familias. Hay varios salones y una completa biblioteca con mesa de billard y un piano de cola. Las habitaciones son amplias y luminosas. Los baños y la cocina estaban limpios y aunque no son modernos resultaban cómodos. El jardín es muy agradable en los días calurosos y por la noche brillaban luciérnagas por todas partes haciéndolo aún más mágico. Durante el día era el turno de la mesa de ping pong y la barbacoa. La piscina es perfecta para refrescarse y nuestras hijas la disfrutaron mucho. En resumen un viaje en el tiempo a una villa maravillosa. El trato con el dueño como con la persona que nos atendió allí fue impecable y muy cordial.

Une fabuleuse semaine en famille dans cette superbe maison toscane tout aussi familiale. Caractère, élégance et si agréable à vivre. Nous y avons passé un été Florentin délicieux agrémenté de Dîners en soirée, éclairés par des chandeliers. Cadre enchanteur. Table de ping-pong, billard et surtout une piscine bien sécurisante quand on a des jeunes enfants. Le propriétaire est réactif, complaisant..en digne ambassadeur Toscan . Nous recommandons vivement !

Nous avions vu les photos, nous pensions donc savoir à quoi nous attendre... Nous avons quand même été soufflés par la beauté des lieux ! La maison est superbe, elle a plu aux adultes et aux enfants. La région est magnifique. Bref, un bonheur !

Eine wirklich atemberaubende Unterkunft: edel, alt, authentisch. WLAN ging nicht immer, soll aber verbessert werden. Sehr viel Platz, wundervoller Garten, mit allem ausgestattet, was man für die Freizeit braucht. Die Küche ist sehr groß und geräumig. Toller Pool Billard, toller Flügel. Alles da, auch mal an einem (seltenen) Regentag. Auch bei großer Hitze ist das Haus angenehm gekühlt. Geheimtipp: Rennstrecke Mugello in Scarperia, und auch Scarperia selbst ist, ebenso wie das nahe gelegene Borgo San Lorenzo, ist bei näherem Hinsehen eine schöne Perle zum Essen gehen und Kaffee trinken. - Die Gastgeber sind sehr großzügig und zuvorkommend. Absolute Empfehlung!!!

Une merveilleuse villa toscane agréable à vivre, pleine de charme et de mystère ... un séjour qui restera plein de souvenirs des moments passés dans la maison, le jardin et sa piscine et des découvertes de la région (Florence, Sienne, ...). Luca, un hôte attentif pour que l'accueil et la vie sur place soient parfaits ... Allez-y !!!! Nous, on y retournerait bien !!!

Une très belle et grande maison toscane, très facile à vivre ! Tout le charme d'une majestueuse maison familiale avec un immense jardin. On s'y est reposé, on a nagé, fait du yoga, lu sous le grand arbre, dansé à la nuit tombée, diné aux chandelles... Les activités aux alentours sont nombreuses et la proximité de Florence est un plus. Un séjour qui permet de joindre farniente et douceur aux plaisirs citadins et culturels. Si les meubles sont anciens, la literie est neuve et nous y avons tous très bien dormi. Les salles de bain sont spacieuses. Je recommande cet endroit d'autant que les contacts avec le propriétaire étaient très faciles.

We had a wonderful (second) time at the impressive and gorgeous Villa Montazzi. The house has a beautiful and historical atmosphere, very spacious, privately situated and we spend many lovely evenings (and days) just sitting in the garden and enjoying the pool (very nice for children as well!). It's easy to visit Florence, but there are also very nice smaller villages around to visit and just have a 'cafe' or 'gelato' on a terrace. Altogether Villa Montazzi is a special and unique place to spend your holiday; we love!

Nous avons passé des super vacances dans une superbe maison, où chacun avait ses appartements! Belle demeure et beaucoup de possibilités de visiter les alentours, surtout Florence. Nous( 2 ans jusqu à 62 ans ) étions tous ravis et nous pouvons que recommander la Villa Montazzi. Très bon accueil et un jardinier sympa.

"La villa Montazzi est une superbe maison (presque un palais !) très spacieuse et très bien équipée parfaite pour plusieurs familles. Elle est située dans une magnifique partie de la Toscane préservée de la foule et de la canicule en été. Cette maison est idéale pour passer des vacances de repos et/ou de culture (Florence est à quelques km) entres amis ! La gentillesse du propriétaire est un atout de plus. Nous recommandons donc cette location sans réserve."

We enjoyed the stay at Villa Montazzi very much, location and the Villa are beautiful. There is absolutely enough space for at least 10 people, the rooms are nice and stylish with antique furniture. Good and friendly support from the owner, for example to find good restaurants in the region.

"Superbe demeure typiquement Toscane, qui vous plonge dans un univers complètement dépaysant. La demeure possède le charme de l'ancien et par sa taille, vous invite à être une princesse (mes filles ont adoré !!). Toujours fraiche, elle ammène au calme et à la détente. Le jardin est agréable et la piscine la bienvenue au mois d'aout !!! A proximité : un petit restaurant typique, délicieux et aux tarifs tout a fait raisonnables vous permet même de profiter du farniente toute la journée sans vous préoccuper des menus à composer.... sinon toutes les commodités sont à proximité !!!! Super séjour. Nous sommes ravis."
