Carter's Lake Overlook is located in a very remote, heavily wooded gated community 20 minutes outside of Ellijay. During that drive, you will find fantastic country scenery to pass the miles to downtown Ellijay.
On the square, you'll find wonderful stops! From pottery to cigar bars, fine dining, bagel and coffee shops, and everything in between!

Carter's Lake Overlook is a Large Lodge with a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom log home that can sleep up to eight (10) guests and offers the following:

All of our cabin rentals are fully furnished and include a minimum of the following unless otherwise stated in the listing:
Fully equipped kitchen: Refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, glassware, utensils, cutlery, pots, and pans. Linens for each bed, 2-bath towels, 1-hand towel, 1 washcloth per person listed on the guest list, dresser or closet for clothing storage, central heat & air, washer/dryer, vacuum and/or broom and dustpan, mop, internet, and propane gas grill. In addition, we provide a complimentary start-up supply of Toilet Tissue (1 roll per bathroom), 1- roll of paper towels, 4- kitchen garbage bags, dishwasher detergent, dishwashing liquid, and laundry detergent for at least 2 loads. Many of our cabins include more than this basic list of inventory items. The only items you'll need to bring will be food, beverages, and condiments.

Our stay at Carter's Lake Overlook was fun and relaxing. None of the teenagers said a cross word the entire trip. The kitchen was well stocked for our Thanksgiving dinner. We all hated to leave. Anyone I spoke with was friendly and professional.

The house was in a great location. It had a gorgeous fireplace (even though the wood supply was limited to small pieces of wood). We loved the different levels of the home so the boys could have their own space downstairs. Didn’t really speak except to book the cabin, so not much experience to speak of

Overall, our stay was fine but we had some issues. I'll start with the positives.Easily checked in. Solid cell service all weekend so google maps worked great getting us there.Great setup of rooms for two families (family of 6 & 5). AMAZING view in living room/kitchen. Beds are very comfortable. Everyone remarked on comfortability.Kitchen was well stocked with basically everything you could need. Only thing we needed they didn't have (or we couldn't find) was a cheese grater! Having two fridge/freezers was great for so many people.Wifi was great. Fireplace in living room is awesome! had a fire every waking moment. Brought our own wood.Negatives---House seemed like it was cleaned after last renter, not on day of our arrival. There were hundreds of dead ladybugs everywhere. We had ladybugs in the house all weekend...in the bed, in the shower, etc. Swept them up all weekend.-shower heads weren't cleaned so hard water made pressure bad.-House didn't have a dust pan (making sweeping challenging) or a vacuum (would've been great for ladybugs)-Dishwasher broke on first use. Not ideal.-Despite description, no ping pong.-Pool table isn't great quality and wasn't level-Air Hockey pucks were stuck inside table. Found them day 2.-Outdoor rug was disheveled on arrival-No clear instructions on what to do with trash. 1 small trash bin outside.-Heat broke on last night when temps were freezing.Prop Mgmt. VERY responsive when called about dishwasher & heat. Super kind.
