2 Bedrooms Artist House - The 2nd Home

This is such a cool, quirky property. The ceramics in it are amazing and everything seems home made. I loved the vibe of the property. There's also a good amount of space in the living area, the bathrooms are good, there's an eco focus and it's well located. There's so much to like about this property.

The biggest thing is that while we were eating lunch on our last day at 11:30ish (checkout is at 12) the next guests arrived. Rather than asking them to come back later I felt like we were rushed out (we left the property about 11:45). I wouldn't have minded at all if they'd been asked to leave their bags and go somewhere, but it was not great to have people basically waiting for us to leave. I recognise this was likely the guests fault more than the owners, but I felt he decided we were least likely to make a fuss (he was right, we were all very British about it). There isn't anywhere to leave bags after checkout, which wasn't too big a deal. The owner did arrange for us to leave them in the house but didn't tell us until we booked somewhere else for them to go (we left them for an hour). There were also a couple of minor upgrades to the house that would be good. One is a headboard on the bunk beds so the pillows don't fall off in the night. In heavy rain the roof leaked (not a big deal as it dried very quickly). Finally, it would have been good for the bannister on the stairs to go all the way down.

Very well appointed home with everything you need to stay comfortable. Heaters for every room and or evenings and nice big shower

It was a little difficult to find and we found the beds were quite hard so if you like a firm bed, you will love sleeping here

Location was excellent, walking distance to so many great restaurants and cafes and only a short grab trip for sightseeing. The host is so warm, welcoming and helpful. No request was too hard. The house had an authentic home stay feel and had cooking facilities available which we used a couple of times. Washing machine on site and the housekeeper took away our wet clothes and dried for us. There were 4 of us so having two full bathroom with both shower and toilet was definitely a bonus!

It was a bit noisy at night with some local dogs barking and cats fighting on the room. The mattress was very hard - the host organised a topper for us but we still found it a bit too hard.

It is the cutest place. Had everything we needed.

Would have preferred a sign for the toilet paper so the kids remembered not to throw toilet paper down
