Carlton House Apartment 1

Centrally located. Great size rooms and kitchen fully kitted out

Seating in lounge is tired and somewhat uncomfortable. Material sofa perhaps needs a good steam clean. Still awaiting a response from either the caretakers, booking.com or skyes cottages as to where the hairdryer is or is not. Totally given up on all people earning money from me. Very disappointed. Hope to never need anything urgently

The apartment was in a fantastic location, easy to find and great to have parking close by. The view from the living room window was amazing. Great to watch the weather changing. It was very clean and felt very spacious. The bathroom was very big and the shower was very good. The bedrooms were fine too. An added bonus was that it is on the ground floor. You can pull your car up, right outside the door, to unload.

Carlton House apartment 1 is a little tired and dull looking, needing a bit of a make over. For the price, we thought It lacked finesse and could easily be made to look more loved. For example, the towels were very old and shabby; it would be easy to replace those. A few basic condiments like salt, pepper, vinegar and cooking oil, surely, should be provided. The hand soap dispensers were nearly empty, and there was no soap in the kitchen at all. The sofas have seen better days and were not very comfortable, a couple of the dining chairs were also very uncomfortable, the padding had gone in them. The T.V didn't work and kept asking us to add our Amazon account, which we did not want to do. We tried to flag this up by emailing, but unfortunately, we did not receive a response while we were there. We did eventually manage to get it to work. On our last night there! The apartment was very clean, which was lovely, but it appeared that other things hadn't been checked. For instance, there were no dishwasher tablets provided for the dishwasher, no hairdryer in either of the bedrooms, you don't usually have to bring all these things with you when staying in an Air B& B. It would also have been good if a couple of fans could have been provided. It was an incredibly hot weekend.The temperature in the apartment was 25⁰ and we were unable to open the windows. The nights were unbearable. However, I do appreciate that it is never usually that hot in this country.

Location was fantastic, very close to town centre. Nice apartment, very roomy, lovely bathroom with separate large bath & shower cubicle

The sound proofing between this and the flat above was non existent. Often the neighbours would be talking and we thought someone was in our flat! If you're a light sleeper you will struggle with this. There's only 1 parking voucher, I asked if we could have a 2nd but didn't get a reply. There was no hairdryer - pretty standard in other rentals I've stayed at. It would be really lovely to provide some cheap basics, as most other rentals do, eg small amount of coffee, tea, milk, salt, pepper, kitchen roll, hand-wash in toilet. There was absolutely nothing in any of the cupboards. These small cheap items would make the stay so much more welcoming.

Excellent location less than 5 mins walk to market square and 2/3 mins to restaurants. Free private parking directly adjacent to the property is good. Property is modern internally and well equipped.

At the end of the summer season the property is showing signs of 'lick and a promise' cleaning and is in need of a deep clean and some maintenance. Washing machine smells of drains, shower has some black mould and drain does not work.
