Custom-designed by the owner/architect, this incredible Platte Lake retreat comes fully furnished for family-friendly comfort and modern living. Take advantage of the home's lakeside location in the large yard, with a firepit and all kinds of lawn games for endless outdoor fun, including badminton, croquet, and cornhole. Launch one of the provided kayaks or standup paddleboards off the private dock for fun on the water.
Nearby Lake Michigan beaches offer an easy opportunity to enjoy the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, and you'll find convenient gas, grocery, and dining options in downtown Honor. The picturesque village of Beulah offers small-town charm and several outstanding golf, hiking, and biking options just a short drive from home.
The stylish interior reflects the home's woodsy surroundings, with gorgeous hardwood flooring and polished pine finishes throughout the living area. A private deck incorporates a fully grown tree into the layout to further integrate with the property's natural features. A plush sectional set the stage for casual downtime, and the well-appointed kitchen is equipped with a full suite of major appliances for handling home cooking. If you're looking for a little more action, challenge your guests to some friendly competition over a few rounds of Ping-Pong in the walk-out basement. Home essentials include free WiFi and a private washer/dryer.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.
Dock details: Guests may use the private dock to launch kayaks and standup paddle boards, along with the 10-feet by 10-feet sitting area at end. Motorized watercraft, including jet skis are not permitted. The lake is patrolled for water safety compliance, including the use of life jackets.
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

This was a fantastic cabin for a summer family getaway for our family of four. Loved the nearby Platte point beach had great outings to South Manitou Island and Traverse City, and journeyed out to some favorite spots including Nine Bean Rows and Farm Club. It was great to SUP and Kayak on Platte Lake. Hope to come back soon!

We had the most incredible stay at this Mid-Century Modern cabin nestled right on the shores of Platte Lake. From the moment we arrived, we could tell this was a truly special place. The cabin is immaculately clean—it felt more like walking into a boutique vacation home than a rental.
Every amenity you could possibly need is thoughtfully provided: pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, bathroom essentials—you name it, it’s here. The kitchen was fully stocked and a joy to cook in, making meals together a breeze. We especially appreciated the kayaks that were available to use—it was so peaceful paddling out onto the lake each morning or an evening fish.
The layout of the cabin is ideal for both relaxation and connection. One of our favorite things was that there's no TV in the main living area, which really encouraged us to unplug and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings and quality family time. It made game nights and long conversations by the lake that much more meaningful.
For when we wanted a bit of indoor fun, the lower level was perfect. The ping pong table was a hit with the kids and adults alike, and there’s a cozy area with a TV downstairs that made for perfect movie nights after a day on the water.
All in all, this cabin strikes the perfect balance of style, comfort, and thoughtful design. We left feeling refreshed, connected, and already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend!

Loved the house, the front door was difficult to unlock, and the lighting in bathrooms and dining area wasn’t the best. A little off the beaten path…took us awhile to get our bearings. Lake was beautiful… the kitchen was amazingly equipped. Lower level musty but we didn’t use it much. No tv upstairs was a topic of conversation, some good some bad. Bed linens pretty thin. Al in all it a great place that could use just a few improvements.
