About this house rental
The Nestucca Lookout is a spacious, fun home in a great location for surfing, fishing, hiking and just relaxing at the beach. Fully stocked for vacation, this is a great home-base for your Pacific City adventures and beyond. The home is on a narrow stretch of land between the ocean and the Nestucca River, and features river views out the back, and ocean views in the front. The upstairs bedroom has a cozy look-out bench to watch the river go by and all of the eagles, pelicans, seals, fisherman and everything else that hangs out in the Nestucca Estuary.

Upstairs loft/bedroom has a queen bed (loft style open to living room)

Sunset Avenue is a quiet street located between the Nestucca River and the Ocean that stretches south from the middle of Pacific City on the beach, and leads directly into Bob Straub State Park. A low bank sandy beach slopes to the ocean from the oceanfront homes. Also off of Sunset Avenue you will find what is commonly known at ?The Boat Landing?, which along with a boat ramp is one of the best fishing holes in the area. Certain times of the year, you will find fisherman catching huge spring and fall Chinook Salmon.

1/2 the total cost of the booking is subject to forfeiture if reservation is canceled or changed within 30 days of arrival. 100% of rental rate is charged if cancelled (or no-show) within 7 days of arrival. If the house is fully rebooked by another renter, cancellation charges (less $35) will be refunded. Reservation cancellation fee is $35. (If you book with a 3rd party, different charges may apply).
The safety of our staff, guests and local community is our top priority. This home is professionally managed and cleaned to strict standards in line with CDC guidelines, including supervised housekeeping and post-clean sanitation.

This property was such a great fit for our family and served as an excellent home base. I enjoyed the kitchen and cooking a few meals there at the home. Everything was easy to find. The kids enjoyed all the toys and games to explore. They had a good selection of VHS and DVD's but we couldn't figure out how to get that to work. Also, their seemed to be some corners cut when it came to the railings in the main living room. There should be twice as many slats. It was a battle to keep my kids from slipping between the rails and onto the couch....It's minor as safety goes as the fall would not be much but probably would be a good update to make for safety!

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Nestucca Lookout. Being able to hear the ocean with a partial view was awesome and a quick walk to the beach for fun! Having the river behind the house was a huge plus. There was plenty of parking, room for our family to spread out, and activities at the house to keep us entertained. Loved being an hour from Newport one way and an hour from Garibaldi the other. Woke up on the day we left to a deer by the shop on the property. Lots of wild life surrounding the property. We had the doors open most of the time for the ocean sounds and breeze. A lizard joined us for who knows how many days till I came across it in the garage level bedroom. We safely removed it back to its outdoor habitat. The property management company was amazing when we had a washing machine crisis. They were quick to fix it. The house had mostly everything we needed for cooking. Only items for suggestions are more of an assortment of knives for cooking prep and fans for the middle level and lower level bedrooms. We brought our own fans from home to make sure we were comfortable. We will definitely stay again!

I feel like I should list pro’s and con’s. Pro’s: great location, easy access to beach, fairly clean, great price, lots of stuff (ping pong paddles, balls, beach chairs, footballs, bubbles, sand toys, pool, etc) on hand for family fun. Con’s: I felt like I was in the middle of a DIY remodel. The master bedroom did not have a bathroom and was open to below. There was a curtain that could be drawn for visual privacy. I think they were remodeling the bathroom adjacent to the master but it was locked and had a big sign that read ‘owner’s closet.’ The second bathroom was a toilet with a utility sink in the middle of the laundry room. The only working shower had a big crack in the faucet and sprayed water everywhere. The garbage disposal and some outlets didn’t work. If you plan on staying more than one night, bring soap and shampoo/conditioner as the quarter size bar they leave you is barely enough to get through one day with a family of four.
We had a good time, but probably won’t be staying in Pacific City again. Everything was over priced, even the grocery store.
