Coralview Island Resort

We are a retired couple, two women, on a snorkel adventure. From the moment our small boat approached this family owned and operated resort, we experienced a level of hospitality rarely offered budget travelers. The property is well-maintained, the staff, often family members, provide the most attentive service. Our airy, sea view casita was beautifully designed and decorated w/screened windows and a modern bathroom and comfortable beds. Meals, provided by a master-in-training, were generously portioned. His tasty soups and sauces will not be forgotten. I only wish we had the option to eat traditional food. Many of the guests felt the same.

Flies and wind! Screen doors might help with the first; the second is in God’s hands! To be honest, It is likely that the wind ensures it is never too hot! I loved it.

The staff were super nice and helpful! We went on several trips, which I strongly recommend doing, it was so much fun! It’s just a short walk away from the coconut beach which was amazing! The dogs and cats around the property were super friendly and cuddly as well which we loved!

Unfortunately the toilet in our room didn’t really flush properly, but other than that I have no other complaints. If you want the airport shuttle however, make sure you got the drivers number because we didn’t get it so we missed out on the shuttle and had to get a taxi. But it was just because of a misunderstanding. The kindness of the staff and the beautiful location made up for it. I definitely recommend staying at coralview.

The staff was adorable. Nice viewpoint at the top of the little mountain for sunset. Beautiful reef just in front for snorkeling. 15-20min walk to a beautiful beach (no real beach in front of the resort, and the view is spoiled by a seawall in concrete/rocks) with another great snorkeling. Very easy to go to the cave via their organized expedition.

The price of the room/booking is a bit misleading, since then you have to add a daily fee for food that is 3-4x more expensive than your booking... So in the end, it is WAY more expensive, and the resort is really basic. Also, there is constant wind... because of the orientation of the resort. It is tiring. The food was ok but the portions were the smallest we had in all the places we visited. They always had a vegetarian option, though. They make you pay for the 10min boat ride to the ferry... when you have no other choice than to take it... it was weird to pay extra for this; it should be included in the daily fee package.

It’s a gorgeous island, at the very least that makes it incredible. The lovely staff are outstanding, genuine people who will do their best to take care of you, our room and bed was very comfortable, coconut beach reef is excellent

The management and treatment by management at Coral view resort is very strange. Upon arrival were were inducted in a way that leaves guests feeling tense and uneasy, not warm and inviting. Staff do a great job and should be enjoying their job in paradise although it seems they get told they need to do better without any recognition of their perfectly adequate attentiveness, warm presence and authentic personalities which is the backbone of what makes the experience pleasant. It is clear that the management of the property needs looking at. The compulsory meal plan is weird and communistic, there is no flexibility expect to pay, food is just ok and does not reflect the price. Management have clearly created a structure that is more focused on money making rather than visitor’s experience. They run the Sea Bus, so it is the only boat they recommend except they will be happy to cancel it without informing or have a back up plan that offers reassurance. It would have been nice after a week of relaxing to leave the island peacefully.
