Lovely cottage, great location

The cottage was in a great location. We went on the Polar Express which was a short drive from the cottage. A little hamper was left and the cottage itself was extremely festive.

Only one slight niggle - The property when arrived was super cold. With it being an old stone building it took a few hours to get toasty.

Location was ideal, well equipped, cosy & comfortable.

The mattresses were rather too soft. Have come to expect a few logs provided when booking a cottage with a burner or open fire in autumnal Yorkshire.

Compact and cosy, a perfect peaceful hideaway

The cottage is tucked away but the owners provided a description of how to access the cottage with a marked path drawn in a map- very helpful. The cottage itself was clean and cosy with thoughtful touches and added extras in the kitchen and bathroom. The bed I slept in was super comfy, and having so many great places to explore on the high street close by and also further afield was fantastic.

The cottage parking is tight- I was unable to use it and that could be a problem for some even though there are alternatives near by. The lovely rambling rose around the door could do with a trim, but if you are looking for a negative that's a nice negative to have (especially as it was still flowering☺️

So close to Bedale centre, but quiet and secluded

Clean, cosy and convenient. The kitchen is very well equipped, and even has a jar of dog treats! The living area is cosy with a good selection of books and games and the wifi works seamlessly. One very large bedroom with curtain divider for privacy. The sofa downstairs is bigger than the bed, so have we used this also!

Parking a little awkward for a larger car, but free street parking is an easy short walk away. Bedroom curtain divider let’s light through, although this wasn’t a problem for us.

A quaint cottage.

The cottage is in exceptional location , so easy to walk to Bedale high street. Lots of good dining out places.

No shower room. We feel the cottage is suited more for the younger generation not for seniors. It is a lovely place very quaint with a remarkable history.

The location was excellent, the host kept in contact before an during our stay. They accommodated us wishing to book in early and informed us when the cottage was ready. It is a lovely cottage.

Everything we needed was there. Ideal for high street. Cosy cottage.

Would have preferred a shower but that's just my preference. Other half was happy.

Visiting family it was a great location and good to have our own space

Location, decor and easy to find, clear instructions. The open fire was very welcoming. No welcome pack but the shops were a step away.

The bed was very very squeaky on every movement- so not the best sleep, the toilet handle has some sort of sticky film on it, which doesn’t wipe off .

Excellent location close to the Main Street yet still feels far enough away that it’s peaceful. Very cosy, homely and extremely clean. Spacious rooms. Outside seating was a bonus.

The key cannot be turned easily from the inside. It jams regularly and you have to get it to the exact angle of the lock. It doesn’t line up properly. I would say this is a fire risk as this happened every time. It sometimes took 10 minutes of trying before it unlocked. As this is the only entry/exit it’s a worry.

Very easy to gain access once I got my torch out - my own fault for being dark! The directions given by host were spot on. Very comfortable and homely cottage.

Booked last minute and it didn’t disappoint. The hosts were prompt with reply’s to questions and concerns raised.

It was a pretty little cottage. The location was ideal, set behind a pub with a little alley up in to the Main Street.

The cutest cottage!!!

Beautiful little cottage. We absolutely loved our stay! A stones throw from Bedale centre and literally 2 doors down from a pub. Close to the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside. It really is the perfect location for a getaway. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed for a weekend- kitchen full of utensils etc for cooking, a bathroom with shampoo, soap, lovely towels. The bed was very comfy too. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Highly Recommended for visits to the Yorkshire Dales.

Very comfortable and clean with everything you need. Handy for Bedale market place. Handy for fast EV charging (at the Auction Mart). Helpful, friendly neighbours. Well placed for gorgeous walks in Masham, Leyburn & Brimham Rocks. Not far off the A1M.

Whilst the central location and nearby facilities was an overall positive, the negative side of that was some weekday early morning noise from deliveries to the nearby CoOp. If that would bother you, take some ear plugs. The plus side is a large’ish supermarket within walking distance, so you can easily shop on arrival. The on-site parking is only for small cars. Other parking is close by, but if you’re fussy about parking your car overnight in an unfamiliar public place, that may be uncomfortable. After the weekend, a helpful neighbour let me park across his garage and the property’s garage while he was away.

It was fun, and was comfortable.

We didn’t have breakfast, could have done with a few more tea bags one between three was not good, neither was the fact we had no hot water. But it was only one night, and was quirky, and cute with comfort.

Having no hot water was a big disappointment, and finding how to get some evaded us. Too the towels are far too small.

Cosy and great location !

Unpleasant smell in the cottage (cat or damp) which was a shame - just needs updating would benefit from a shower. Needs ventilation windows not great especially bathroom. The appliances are old and not clean. Overall just needs a little investment to bring it to life!

A cosy cottage with everything we needed. Friendly, warm communication. A real home from home base for us to stay while visiting relatives.
