The staff were great, there was a guy on his first week and he was great, he was obviously doing his best and he did very well. The only other member of staff I met was the chef, she was also lovely. The bar was great value. The chicken Parm I had was excellent.

The light in the bathroom didn't work, so it was like a dim strobe light. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom so I had to use hand soap. There is a loud ish fan outside the window and I thought it was the kitchen ventilation but it turned on at weird times waking me up. The orange juice I had tasted off and the apple juice looked like it had mould at the bottom. The mushrooms also seemed a bit off. All the bread was very low quality too.

The location was ideal as we had booked for a meal at a local restaurant and wanted to be able to walk to it. The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly. The room was decorated in an attractive and up to date style. Check in and check out were convenient and the information received prior to arrival accurate and helpful.

The breakfast was poor. There was a complimentary continental breakfast of fruit juice, porridge, cereal, yogurt and bread to make toast but there was no yogurt or porridge left when we got there and we weren't late. We had opted to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. We had bacon sandwiches and they were made from the cheapest, white sliced bread and 2 rashers of chewy bacon. Very disappointing. The coffee was instant and there was no choice of tea bags. On our 2nd morning we opted to have breakfast at the cafe next door which was lovely. The room was noisy until pub closing time but we had expected that given that it was a room above a pub on a main Street.The shower was disappointing with very low water pressure. The lighting in the bedroom was so dim that it was impossible to read in the evening unless you had a lit kindle.
