About this apartment rental
Location, location, location! Welcome to a charming and bright mid-century apartment in the heart of historic Capitol Hill!
This ground-level apartment is part of a row home on a quiet, tree-lined street only 5 blocks to the Supreme Court and the Capitol building. It boasts tall ceilings with ample natural lighting.
A number of historic sites, Union Station, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, a variety of coffee shops and restaurants, and Eastern Market are all within a 15 minute walk!
We welcome guests who are looking for a comfortable, peaceful stay in the heart of DC. Our row home consists of three floors split into two apartments. This short-term rental unit is the entire ground floor (not an English basement) of the home with its own private entrance, thermostat, kitchen, bedroom, and a full bath. We live upstairs in the top unit; guests have access to the bottom unit only.
The apartment has been furnished to make your DC stay feel like home, including:
- Comfortable, mid-century furniture in the living room and bedroom
- Fast WiFi for those looking to work from home; there isn't a dedicated desk, but there is a dining table that can be used as a desk. Let us know if you plan to work from home during your stay and we will provide an office chair
- Smart TV where you can access your Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime accounts
- Fully stocked kitchen with dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, and more
- Coffee maker, French Press, and a coffee grinder
- Premium, crisp-white clean sheets and towels
- Thermostat to control heat and central air-conditioning
- Warm blankets and quality pillows
- Hybrid mattress to accommodate different preferences
- Blackout curtains designed to also reduce street noise
- Hair dryer and iron (upon request)
The bedroom consists of a queen size bed which can accommodate two people. A third person can sleep on a twin bed in the living room for an additional $35/ night.
*No contact check-in and check-out. Keypad instructions will be sent prior to arrival.
*When we are home, you will most likely hear light footsteps or subtle noises throughout the day. We are available if you need us, otherwise we respect your privacy.
*All external areas of the premises are surveilled and recorded by cameras.
Since this is our home, we kindly ask you review our house rules below before making a reservation.
HOUSE RULES:
1. No party or large event of any size.
2. We kindly ask guests to be mindful of noise between the hours of 11pm-8am. We live upstairs and will do the same.
3. Absolutely no smoking of any kind on the property, including inside the home or outside in the front yard or backyard. Incense is also not permitted.
4. No unregistered guests without notifying the owner.
5. The fireplace is for decorative purposes only. It is *not* available for use by guests.

A personal opinion, but rooms did not seem as large as they appeared in the pictures. This property is best suited for one or two people. Once we were given our entry code at 4 PM on the day of arrival access through two doors with digital locks were very easy. A nice entryway on ground level. Very clean inside. not a problem, but be aware that the owners of the property live above you on the second floor. There are no laundry facilities on the property, but there is a laundromat and dry cleaners several blocks away. There is also a convenience store within a few blocks and a large Safeway grocery store about a five minute drive away. Many landmarks were within a 15 to 20 minute walk. Most Uber rides in the immediate area depending on the time of day would cost you between $15 and $40. The property. is located in a very quiet neighborhood. One note of interest, if you have any kind of physical issues, the bed is on a frame, but very low to the ground. I would recommend.

The property was sparkling clean and comfortable. We had no issues requiring the hosts help. But we did happen to meet them both and they were lovely.
