Relaxing and a lovely retreat from the day

Perfect location for what i needed. Bed was comfry, instructions were easy to follow. The skylights were a great idea. I left my charger and Kim very kindly contacted me to have it returned. Overall an excellent stay and i would book it again.

The one thing that would be good to have is a couple of straight hooks for coat hangers

Highly recommend! Perfect location and perfect place

It was lovely and clean.The bed was comfortable, the pillows amazing, I didn’t even get mine out of the car. I liked the things like the skylights, which brought the light and the sun in and all the electric shades on them. You could turn the shower on from the other end, not under the shower head. Why doesn’t everyone do that. Will steal that idea as well, haha. Everything had a comfortable homely feel. Where we live, it is quiet, so was perfect being across the road from fields, probably the time when we stayed as well. Was not far from the motorway making it easy to go in any direction easily. Communication was instant to ask anything.

Have a look at the picture people, I didn’t and wasn’t sure if it was the garage in front of us. Silly me. The only thing is we watch TV in bed, so would have been good to have one in front of the bed but not a biggie. Got some sleep instead.

Welcoming and beautiful accommodation, highly recommend.

Retro on Queen was an amazing place to stay! The way it’s designed and executed blew us away, the layout was a great use of space. My husband was so impressed, every time we came back he’d have something new to appreciate. The location was great for us “out-of-towners”, close enough that it was a short drive to town but away from the hustle and bustle, which was perfect for being able to relax when coming back. Welcoming, safe, clean and cozy, we are very thankful we stayed here. Highly recommend, we have raved about staying here to our family and friends :) thank you so much for having us.

A great funky place to rest and relax.

The studio was perfect, with a great functional layout. The bed was very comfortable and had plenty of real pillows. The location was very handy with plenty of shops, cafes, and take aways nearby. It was quiet at night. The hosts were very accommodating.

That I can’t take those fabulous retro chairs home!! :)

Very comfy first night in NZ

Lovely big airy space. Very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfy and the selection of three pillows was appreciated. Having Velux roof windows was great to let in some fresh cool air but no bugs, as they have fly screens ( we prefer fresh air to Aircon ).

Best stay ever in Auckland - highly recommended!

We liked everything! The owners truly thought of everything for this accommodation. I am convinced they must have travelled themselves to know exactly what a guest would like and not like. Exceptional attention to detail. Communication was quick and friendly; the place was amazing (bigger than the photos portrayed); the security top notch, bathroom beautiful and great size; everything needed for our stay was there, plus extra!; super clean; tastefully decorated; nice retro decor; kitchen had all we needed to cook and eat; bed was comfy, sofa bed did the job when other family stayed as well; car parking easy and plenty of choice; location good for our purpose; price was just right (first time I have come across a reduction for 3rd person staying - very generous); lighting was good for atmosphere with the dimmers; skylights were a bonus; plenty of loo roll; nice size towels and great to have a heated towel rail. We met the owner when we arrived - she was super friendly and accommodating - perfect stay! Thank you!

Perfect for what we were after

The decor in the place was deliberate and aesthetically pleasing without being over cluttered. The space had been renovated to a high standard and you can tell the owners didn’t take any shortcuts. The room had everything we needed and the host was quick to respond when we couldn’t find an iron. Absolutely loved our stay here and it was perfect for us.

Beautifully presented and designed. Comfortable and adequately supplied with all we required for our one night stay. Bed was cosy and warm, shower pressure was great. Location was great for us as we had a hire car and could access nearby shops within minutes. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again 👍
