A disappointed stay in the dreamed jungle

The garden is lush green, and my impression is as if I were in the middle of a jungle. I can hear various noises made by frogs and insects at night and bird chirping in the morning.

There was no canteen. Although I booked the room with breakfast included. But, because there was no canteen, I was required to prebook my breakfast, so that they could bring breakfast to my room. If I don't prebook or I forget to prebook breakfast, they would assume that I don't want breakfast and no breakfast would be served. And honestly speaking, their breakfast menu is very poor and horribly cooked. I stayed there 4 nights, but only ordered 2 breakfasts and gave up the rest. The room is fairly clean, but there are lots of mosquitoes, because the room is not fully insulated from outside. Mosquitoes and lizards can go into the room through wooden latched windows. I got mosquito's bites everywhere on my body. I suggest the hotel should provide guests with insect repellent if they don't want to insulate the room properly. The last thing i don't like is the shower set. It didn't work properly, so water didn't flow out evenly and smoothly. It definitely needed to be replaced.

Short stays only

I liked how quiet the property was (but it was also low season), and the nature surrounding the property. The room had a good vibe to it.

The fly catcher over the bed had multiple stains, blood, and dirt on it. Would need to wash that. The pool was green. And smelt in certains part. I know I traveled during low season so maybe they didn’t expect people to swim. But it was pretty gross. I was wanting to swim initially hence why I booked it. But I was not going in that water.

Stunning rooms in the most beautiful location.

We were offered an upgrade on arrival. The new room was incredible - huge with the comfiest four poster bed. The gardens and pool area were stunning. There is nothing like waking up to the sound of the jungle.

Some of the paving slabs on the pool side was a little slippy from the algae build up (I fell pretty hard) and the bath/shower set up in our room meant the floor got soaked every time we showered

Lovely place

Absolutely amazing place with a great concept! There is lots of greenery and you have the feeling you are staying in the middle of a jungle.

Staff didn't speak English very well. I didn't feel the typical Balinese hospitality when I arrived. It's a great property with a lot of potential but not very well maintained when it comes to cleanness. (eg the swimming pool was not suitable for swimming at all, it was full with leaves and nobody was cleaning it. The jacuzzi in my villa was not clean either).

I enjoyed staying at the hotel.

Wonderful territory and amazing-looking houses. It has perfectly lived up to my dream of leaving in a treehouse in the middle of a tropical forest! The staff was very polite and ready to solve your problems.

I booked a smaller house with 1 small bed, so there wasn’t much room and the bathroom was downstairs, which wasn’t really convenient.

Such a beautiful property in the middle of the city. You don’t hear any of the traffic noise here. Very peaceful as long as you don’t mind frog noises when you sleep 😄😄. The property grounds are so picturesque! I wanted to stay here because during my day I was going to be doing a lot of fitness and eat at a restaurant that is close by because of some allergies that I have so the location was perfect for that. The price was right for me as a solo traveler too.

It’s obviously not the properties fault, but there were a lot of mosquitos and since I stayed in one of the treehouse villas, I got eaten alive. I even sprayed myself before going to sleep, but that didn’t help. If you stay in one of the clothes rooms, you probably won’t have this problem.

Grose Place, Not Safe (See pics)

Absolutely nothing to like here.

The bed sheets are full of blood stains and all type of other stains. An extremly dirty place, that turns your stomach upside down. Not a place to stay overnight (unless you want to get sick) ! The place has potential, but the conditions and lack of bare minimum cleanliness makes this place a really dangerous ‘hygenic bomb’. Stay safe, people ! Btw: We didn’t even get a refund for the reservation, given the extreme situation we were facing … General advice, please always check guests’ pictures before booking anything (their own pictures present a fake reality) ! PS: Unfortunately, I can’t attach more than 4 pics but if you saw the reality of this place you wouldn’t believe such places exist either (especially on Booking).

Magical place hidden in the heart of Ubud

A gorgeous little piece of paradise tucked away down a driveway from the hustle and bustle of UBUD. The room was amazing, 3 l;evels of cuteness tucked in amongst the trees, Overlooking the lovely pool. It really was a beatuful place to unwind at the end of a busy day exploring.

Not so much something I didn't like but, make sure you order your breakfast the day before. We didn't realise this was a thing until later in our stay.

Unique accommodation we will never forget!

The grounds, pool, and our treehouse (Robinson Crusoe) were all fantastic. The kids thought it was so much fun to stay in a room with trees growing through the centre! Beautiful big pool and gardens, friendly and attentive staff. The location was good, lots of local warungs to eat at, and plenty of things to do.

Beautiful setting, conveniently located.

The setting was absolutely stunning. The tree house and grounds we gorgeous and a very welcomed escape from the chaos of the town centre of Ubud.

We got the superior deluxe. Unfortunately there was a connecting room where the walls were paper thin. No privacy! I could hear the person in the next room texting!! Every movement could be heard from each room. This made us feel a little uncomfortable for our stay.

Hidden gem among business

The property has a huge garden and a pool, so you have options to chill within the villa complex! The bungalows are amazing, they give you a rustic vibe, which I love. A little break from the chaos it is to drive a scooter, I loved the place! I could even live here, it’s in a great location, lots of restaurants close by but at the same time it’s really peaceful. The staff is the best! They always offer to accommodate to our needs! I would come back 100%

I originally booked a single room which was cute but tiny, and the AC wasn’t effective as the room is open at the top. I upgraded to a bigger room which was beautiful, but the AC didn’t work. The guys brought me a portable unit which helped. I feel they did their best to try to sort it

Staff were amazing, the place was just how it was in the pics. The bed was comfortable, the location was great for restaurants. The breakfast was average tbh.. but nice enough and free. Was just what we imagined.

Absolutely loved the property- BEAUTIFUL and quiet, tucked away from main road. The landscapers were working hard every day to maintain the grounds. Breakfast was wonderful, and the staff went above and beyond and were so friendly!

The pool tile needed a bit of scrubbing on the upper portions. A little too mossy, but maybe it’s due to lack of chemicals being used in the water, which is a good thing! The shower was not draining properly/overflowing into bathroom quite a bit

My only concern would be that it would have been nice with air con in our room. They have rooms with air con so in the end it’s our own mistake to not book one of those.

Dissapointed in my stay. Beautiful place though!

Beautiful grounds and very aesthetically-pleasing room.

I thought I had booked a treehouse, as there were pictures of such on their website, and "treehouse" is in the name. However, when I arrived it was ground-floor room and no treehouses in sight -perhaps I missed something there. I was excited to use the hot tub, but was very dissapointed when the hot water would only run for about 5 minutes -not nearly long enough to fill up the tub. Taking a shower was cold due to the hot water issue, and there seemed to be no drainage system as the water from the shower flooded the bathroom floor. My biggest complaint was the very, very, very loud nightlife -frogs, I think. Not even covering my head with a pillow and stuffing my ears with tissue would help much with the noise. They kept me up all night long. At the end of it I was sad I didn't get to experience anything I had been anticipating, and a little grumpy the next morning due to lack of sleep. Also, keep in mind their name is both "Green Treehouse Villas" and "Green Bird Villas". I spent about 2 extra hours trying to find the place on google maps, since the only name I saw anywhere was "Green Treehouse". I finally found it by asking for directions several times and troubleshooting which similarly-named villa it could be.

slightly isolated dont go there as solo traveler

Description of reception said 24 hours and when I arrived it was incredibly dark and isolated. I had called multiple times re hold up regarding my booking and was told somone would be there. When I arrived I was send to the wrong room. There was no 24 hour reception only a security gard who did his best to manage the situation with little english. I didn't feel safe so Ieft

Towel was dirty, had stains on it, american breakfast had no meat and slats in some walls and no mosquito nets so they could get in easily
