Location and spacious for two people

Ground floor was a little cold and you had to figure out the heating controls yourself

Central location. Free parking at the carpark 3 min down the hill. Clean and cosy cottage and you can tell it is well loved. Bright bedroom with good heating. Clean linen. The extra bedroom upstairs was a surprise as it was not advertised.

Living room is cosy though dark. Fireplace is only decorative. Basic amenities you would typically expect was not provided - a drop of dishwashing liquid provided with no brush/sponge. No dishwashing pods. No salt, pepper or sugar. No shampoo and body wash.

The decor was exceptional with lovely pictures and accessories- the beds were so comfortable. Very easy to warm the place up, good selection of DVDs to watch. Very convenient location near centre of Ambleside with Tesco and many restaurants nearby. We went without a car and good bus routes for exploring fells etc

A little more instruction eg how to use dishwasher, what to do with rubbish etc

Heating was poor - and not giving the usual items like soap and clothes for washing up. There was a dish washer but no tablets - usually a few of these items are given. The fridge was off - and there was a dirty plate on top of the pile.. Disappointing as this company usually set their standard higher - Sykes have said they will pass my issues on to the owner...
