Lovely family short break - with my Mum and son.
Brilliant location, lovely cottage Good state of decor/repair Well appointed kitchen Comfy Lounge Comfy Beds 2 bathrooms, good showers Dining room great for nights eating in Home from home
Had to call Sykes Holiday Cottages office to get housekeeping to return as while cottage very clean, 2 beds not made and previous occupants bedding still in pile in hallway. However I have to say this was sorted within an hour which was is commendable and house keeping staff very pleasant and helpful.

Enjoyable stay, great location
Lovely big property, well stocked kitchen if you are cooking meals. central location near shops and restaurants. Easy to walk from the cottage into the mountains or down to the lake so left the car at home most days. Great boot room for off loading footwear. Little touches such as walking maps and board games much appreciated.
Located opposite a filling station and shop but set back behind the trees, A bit busy and noisy in the day but not a problem at night. Being picky but needed a little TLC in places, heating control buttons worn out on heaters, wonky headboard, noticed a thick layer of dust under the bed after retrieving a sock and some cobwebs on the walls but generally very clean. No mattress protector on the bed just the sheet. Could do with a washing line and a more robust drying rack for drying washing or wet walking clothes. Parking a bit tricky, requires some precision manoeuvring.

Perfect base for a short stay in Coniston
We loved our stay at Rose Cottage, the location was excellent, and the instructions for checking in were good. The house is a little dated, however i think this is reflected in the price and it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
There was no hand soap provided in the upstairs bathrooms. The road is noisy when you are sitting in the garden but is not a problem when you are in the house.
