time travel (almost) back to the 18th Century in the heart of the English Lake District.
It is a lovely quaint 18th century cottage with 3 reception rooms, a small secluded yard/garden, 2 bedrooms and 2 washrooms, one with bath and one with shower over bath. There is lots of storage space for your coats and boots and a family could live there. You look across the road and see sheep grazing in the field. It's 5 minutes walk to the bus stop for the 505 for Coniston/Ambleside/Kendal and just by, there are 3 pubs, 2 bars, 3 cafes and lots of shops in Hawkshead.
If you're over 5'4" in height, you need to spend a lot of time bending down to avoid hitting your bonce on the low ceilings downstairs. The double bed is similarly height restricted, which has uncomfortable springs and your partner will bounce around when you turn over. There is no pavement or street light for the first couple of hundred metres when walking into the village, so take a torch for the night. The pubs in the village on Sunday evening at 18.30 had all run out of food or had no tables available, so book ahead if you want to eat in one.
